Tecan Infinite Plate Reader Configuration

Learn how to configure your Tecan Infinite plate readers for use with Synthace. Create and save iControl scripts for use in your workflows.

Updated over a year ago

Introduction

Synthace integrates with Tecan’s Infinite M200 Plate Reader. Once your Synthace Customer Success representative has connected your plate reader with Synthace, you will be able to generate configurations in order to run plate reader scripts directly in your Synthace workflow.

There are two softwares that are compatible with the Infinite M200, Magellan and iControl. Synthace controls the Infinite M200 via iControl, so it is critical that you ensure your protocols are made in iControl and not Magellan. If you have questions about making scripts in iControl, please consult this video here. Once this is complete, follow the checklist below to upload a configuration to Synthace.

1. Go to Synthace Hub on the PC connected to your plate reader and liquid handler. Select the “Devices” tab. You should then see your liquid handler along with the plate reader present (see the screenshot below). Select “Configuration Tool” under the plate reader.

2. After clicking on the Configuration Tool, the below window should pop up. If you do not immediately see it, make sure it is not hiding behind your web browser. Ensure that Synthace is selecting the right folder path for where your protocols are located. To configure this, click on “Select Protocols Location” and find the folder where these are contained. Once the correct protocol folder is selected, click on “Generate Config”.

3. Synthace will create a .json file that you can upload into your environment. Take the .json file you generated, log into your Synthace environment, and open Inventory>Devices. Find your plate reader in the Device library and click on “Configuration”.

4. Upload the newly generated .json file into your plate reader’s configuration. To do so, click on “Add New Configuration” and upload the .json file. Now when using the “Run Plate Reader” element in your workflows, you will be able to select the protocols you have created in iControl.
