Summary
To use RoboColumns, you must set up a new labware entity within Fluent Control. Under the Positions / Teaching tab for the new labware, there are several Z-Coordinates that must match in order for the Fluent to function properly.
Creating New Labware
In Fluent Control, create a new labware entity for your RoboColumns.
Under the Miscellaneous tab for the new labware, make sure the following values are entered for Vendor Name and Part Number:
Vendor Name: Repligen
Part Number: RoboLong/RoboShort
Setting Z-Coordinates
Under the Positions / Teaching tab for your new labware, set Compartments per well to 2.
Below, set Current compartment to 1.
Make any necessary teaching adjustments to the pipetting positions before proceeding.
Once taught, under Z-Coordinates, make sure the same value is entered for both Z-Dispense and Z-Max. Record that value for use in the next step.
Now set Current compartment to 2.
Set the values for Z-Travel, Z-Start, Z-Dispense, and Z-Max of compartment 2 equal to the value of Z-Dispense and Z-Max of compartment 1.
Make sure the Z-Bottom is the same for both compartments 1 and 2.
Save & Close.
