How do I create Groups in ANVL?

Use Bulk Group Creation in the ANVL Admin Portal to create multiple Groups at once using a CSV file. This is useful for large rollouts, migrations, or initial setup when many sites need to be added consistently.

Bulk-created Groups are live immediately, but they are not fully configured just because they were created. New Groups do not inherit items such as Workflow Categories or Work Folder Categories. That setup must be completed before the Group is ready for workflows, assignments, or reporting.

  1. Open ANVL Insights.

  2. Select Welcome, [Your Name].

  3. Select Admin Portal.

  4. In the Admin Portal, open Bulk Group Creation.

  5. Download the provided CSV template.

  6. Enter one row per Group in the template.

  7. Complete all required fields for each Group.

  8. Save the file as a .csv file.

  9. Upload or drag and drop the file into Bulk Group Creation.

  10. Review the rows in the validation table.

  11. Correct any issues shown in the validation table.

  12. If you make edits in the table, select Save.

  13. Select Submit to create the Groups.

  14. Open Group Management to verify the new Groups were created.

  15. Set up the required Workflow Categories for each new Group.

  16. If your organization uses Work Folders, also set up the required Work Folder Categories.

Important notes

  • Bulk-created Groups are available immediately after creation.

  • Group creation does not automatically configure the new Group for use.

  • Workflow Categories are required before workflows can be deployed properly.

  • In Work Folder organizations, Work Folder Categories are also required.

  • Always verify the new Groups in Group Management before moving on to workflow deployment or user assignments.
