Why It Matters
Workflow Categories are required for workflow deployment

Before You Edit
Workflow Categories affect workflow deployment, publishing, and user selection.
Before editing or deleting a category, review Workflow Categories – Overview to understand impacts and required precautions.
Steps: Edit Workflow Categories
Note: Category Type cannot be edited.
Open Group Management in the ANVL Admin Panel.
Use filters or search to locate the Group to edit.
Scroll right to the Workflow Categories column.
Tip: Re-arrange columns by dragging and dropping them into the desired order for easy editing.Click into the Workflow Categories column.
Update fields (Name, Description, Color, Order).
Select Save.
⚠️ Caution: Deleting a Workflow Category
Deleting a Workflow Category requires advance preparation to prevent orphaned or inaccessible workflows.
Before deleting a Workflow Category, you must complete all of the following:
Re-publish all workflows currently assigned to the category into a different Workflow Category
→ See Publish Workflows to a New Group or Category.Submit a Support request to have all workflows in the category archived.
Do not proceed until Support confirms archiving is complete.
Proceed with deletion only after:
All workflows have been re-published, and
Support has confirmed archiving.
Steps: Delete a Workflow Category
Once all prerequisites are complete:
Open Group Management in the ANVL Admin Panel.
Use filters or search to locate the Group to edit.
Scroll right to the Workflow Categories column.
Tip: Re-arrange columns by dragging and dropping them into the desired order for easy editing.
Click into the Workflow Categories column.
In the list of categories, hover over the right side of the category row.
Select the trash can icon to delete the category.
Select Save to apply the change.
Watch Out For…
Category Type cannot be changed
Deleting a category cannot be undone
Workflow Categories must exist before workflows can be deployed
Changes affect all users at the Group
Deletion without preparation can disrupt workflow access
