🧭 Before You Start
You must have Business Administrator access.
Workflow Categories are required for workflow deployment; deleting one without preparation can disrupt access.
Do not proceed until all required preparation steps are complete.
🎯 Why This Matters
Workflow Categories control how workflows are published and accessed.
Deleting a category without preparation can orphan workflows or block user access.
Proper deletion ensures data integrity and uninterrupted workflow availability.
⏱️ When to Do This
Retiring a workflow program or category that is no longer needed
Consolidating workflows into a different category
Cleaning up unused configuration after workflows are archived
🛠️ Steps: Delete a Workflow Category
Required preparation (must be completed first):
Re-publish all workflows currently assigned to the category into a different Workflow Category
→ See Publish Workflows to a New Group or CategorySubmit a Support request to have all workflows in the category to be deleted archived
Wait for Support confirmation that archiving is complete
Delete the category:
Open Group Management in the ANVL Admin Portal.
Use filters or search to locate the Group to edit.
Scroll to the Workflow Categories column.

Hover over the category row you want to delete.
Select the trash can icon.
Select Save to apply the change.
Wait for the table to refresh and verify the change(s) were successful.
⚠️ Watch Out For…
Deleting a Workflow Category cannot be undone.
Do not delete a category that still contains active or unarchived workflows.
Deletion without Support confirmation can result in inaccessible workflows.
Changes affect all users at the Group level.
✅ What You Should See

Workflows previously assigned to the category are accessible in their new category.
