Safely remove a Workflow Category after workflows have been reassigned and archived to prevent disruption.

Workflow Categories are required for workflow deployment and publishing. Deleting a category without proper preparation can orphan workflows or block user access. You must have Business Administrator access, and all workflows must be reassigned and archived before deletion. Deletion cannot be undone.

Do not proceed until required preparation steps are complete.

Answer

Business Administrators must first reassign and archive all workflows in the category, receive Support confirmation, and then remove the category in Group Management within the Admin Portal.

Steps

1. Required Preparation (Complete First)

  1. Re-publish all workflows currently assigned to the category into a different Workflow Category.

  2. Submit a Support request to archive all workflows remaining in the category to be deleted.

  3. Wait for confirmation from Support that archiving is complete.

Do not proceed until Support confirms completion.

2. Delete the Workflow Category

  1. Open Group Management in the ANVL Admin Portal.

  2. Use filters or search to locate the Group to edit.

  3. Scroll to the Workflow Categories column.
Tip: Drag the Workflow Categories column to the right of the Name column for quick reference.

  4. Click into the Workflow Categories cell.

  5. Hover over the category row you want to delete.

  6. Select the trash can icon.

  7. Select Save to apply the change.

  8. Wait for the table to refresh and verify the change(s) were successful.
