Edit Workflow Categories (Business Administrator)

Edit Workflow Categories to update how workflows are labeled, organized, and presented to users during publishing and execution.

🧭 Before You Start

  • You must have Business Administrator access.

  • Workflow Categories impact workflow deployment, publishing, and user selection.

  • Changes apply immediately at the Group level.

  • Review Understand Workflow Categories before making changes.

  • If you need to delete a Workflow Category, follow the steps in Delete Workflow Category.


🎯Why It Matters

  • Workflow Categories are required for workflow deployment.

  • Categories control how workflows appear to users and Workflow Managers.


⏱️When to Do This

  • Updating workflow program names or descriptions

  • Adjusting display order or color

  • Correcting category details


🛠️Steps: Edit Workflow Categories

Note: Category Type cannot be edited.

  1. Open Group Management in the ANVL Admin Panel.

  2. Use filters or search to locate the Group to edit.

  3. Scroll right to the Workflow Categories column.
    Tip: Re-arrange columns by dragging and dropping them into the desired order for easy editing.

  4. Click into the Workflow Categories column.

  5. Update fields (Name, Description, Color, Order).

  6. Select Save.

  7. Wait for the table to refresh and verify the change(s) were successful.


Watch Out For…

  • Category Type cannot be changed.

  • Workflow Categories must exist before workflows can be deployed.

  • Changes affect all users at the Group level.


What You Should See

  • Updated Workflow Category details saved successfully

  • Categories correctly reflected when:

    • Publishing workflows

    • Users start workflows
