Answer
Use Force Logout when you need to immediately end a user’s active ANVL sessions so they must sign in again. This is commonly used to resolve:
Failed to Load errors
stale or incorrect Group context
permission inconsistencies after access changes
session issues after user updates
Force logout does not remove access or delete the user. It only clears the active session so the latest changes can apply.
This is especially important when a user is removed from a Group. In that case, you should always force log out the user so they do not continue working with outdated access or site context.
Steps
Open ANVL Insights.
Select Welcome, [Your Name].
Select Admin Portal.
In the Admin Portal, open User Management.
Force log out a single user
Search for the user.
Locate the user in the results.
Hover over the user row until the right-facing arrow appears.
Select the right-facing arrow to Force Logout the user.

When to force log out a user
Force log out the user after removing them from a Group.
Force log out the user when troubleshooting Failed to Load errors.
Force log out the user when recent permission or Group changes are not taking effect.
Force log out the user when stale session behavior is causing workflow or loading issues.
Important notes
Force logout applies immediately.
This is required when a user is removed from a Group.
If you do not force log out the user after a Group removal, they may continue to have stale Group context.
Stale sessions can cause permission errors and workflow loading issues, especially in ANVL Workflows and the mobile app.
Force logout is a session reset, not an access change.
