How do I bulk create users in ANVL?

Create multiple user accounts at once using a CSV upload in the ANVL Admin Portal.

Answer

Use Bulk User Creation in the ANVL Admin Portal to create multiple user accounts at once using a CSV file. This is the best option for large onboarding efforts, migrations, or rollout activities where many users need to be created consistently.

Bulk creation is powerful, but it should be handled carefully:

  • all required fields must be completed correctly

  • the file must follow the provided template

  • uploaded values are applied directly from the CSV

  • blank values in the file may overwrite existing data if used in an update scenario

You can set fields such as:

  • name and contact information

  • username and email

  • product access

  • Group assignments

  • supervisor relationships

  • status

  • tags and reporting metadata

Steps

  1. Open ANVL Insights.

  2. Select Welcome, [Your Name].

  3. Select Admin Portal.

  4. In the Admin Portal, open Bulk User Creation.

  5. Download the provided CSV template.

  6. Enter one row per user, completing all required fields.

    • Refer to User Fields Reference for field definitions and formatting requirements.

  7. Save the file as a .csv file.

  8. Upload or drag and drop the file into the Bulk User Creation tool.

  9. Review the data in the validation table.

  10. Correct any issues directly in the table, if needed, and select Save.

  11. Select Submit to create the users.

  12. Navigate to User Management to verify the new users.

    • Tip: Sort by the Created at column to view the most recently created users.

Important notes

  • Use the provided CSV template rather than building your own file from scratch.

  • Review the validation table carefully before submitting.

  • Bulk creation applies to live user records.

  • This method is best for large-scale onboarding and standardization.

  • After creation, review the new users in User Management to confirm access, Groups, and supervisor assignments are correct.
