Answer

ANVL access is organized across five main platform areas, and what a person can see or do depends on a combination of product access, Group access, account settings, and Special Rights.

The five main areas are:

  • ANVL Workflows — completing workflows in the field or on the web

  • ANVL Insights — reviewing work, dashboards, assignments, and reporting

  • Users tab in ANVL Insights — site-level user management

  • Mobilize / Editor — workflow creation and management

  • Admin Portal — organization-level governance and administration

A simple way to think about it:

  • Roles / product access control where the user can enter

  • Group access controls which site or data scope they can work in

  • Special Rights control advanced capabilities

  • Account settings control certain management and visibility behaviors

Access should be assigned based on where the person actually works in ANVL, not just job title..

Steps

  1. Open the user in ANVL Insights to review day-to-day access.

    • Go to Users

    • Search for the user

    • Select the checkbox next to the user

    • Select Modify > Modify User

  2. Review the user’s product access.

    • ANVL Workflows access allows the user to complete workflows

    • ANVL Insights access allows the user to review submissions, dashboards, assignments, and reporting

  3. Review the user’s Group assignments.

    • Group access controls which sites the user can access

    • It also affects what data, workflows, and assignments they can see

  4. Review whether the user has Can Modify User enabled.

    • This gives access to the Users tab in ANVL Insights

    • It allows site-level user management within the user’s assigned Groups

    • It does not grant Admin Portal access

  5. Review whether the user is marked as a Hidden User.

    • Hidden users retain access

    • They do not appear in assignments, supervisor lists, and certain operational views

  6. Open the user in the Admin Portal to review advanced access.

    • In ANVL Insights, select Welcome, [Your Name]

    • Select Admin Portal

    • Open User Management

    • Search for the user

    • Open the user record

  7. Review the user’s Special Rights in the Admin Portal.

    • Workflow Management controls access to Mobilize / Editor

    • Admin Portal access allows organization-level administration

    • Insights AI / Risk Insights allows advanced insights and trend analysis

  8. Match access to the correct platform area.

Mobilize / Editor

  • Used for creating, editing, and publishing workflows

  • Requires Workflow Management Special Rights

Admin Portal

  • Used for organization-level governance, Group management, bulk actions, and assigning advanced access

  • Requires Admin Portal Special Right

  1. Confirm the user has only the access they actually need.

    • Too little access creates blockers

    • Too much access creates governance and reporting risk

Important notes

  • ANVL Workflows is the product for completing work

  • ANVL Insights is the product for reviewing and managing work

  • Can Modify User is an account setting, not full admin access

  • Workflow Management and Admin Portal access are advanced capabilities and should be granted carefully

  • Product access alone does not grant organization-level authority
