Answer
To update an existing workflow, start from the current Published version, create a Draft, make your changes, test in Demonstration / UAT, and then publish to Production using Update instead of Create.
Selecting Update is the critical step. It tells ANVL to update the existing workflow template. If Create is selected instead, ANVL will create a duplicate workflow.
Updating a workflow changes the published template for future launches only. In Progress and completed workflows are not changed.
Steps
Step 1: Create a Draft from the Published Workflow
To update a workflow, always start from the latest Published version.
Open ANVL Insights
Go to Mobilize → Editor
Open Published
Select the workflow you want to update
Click Save
This automatically creates a Draft based on the published workflow
Publish the draft to a Demonstration / UAT site.
When prompted, choose Update.
Important: Selecting Update is critical. This is what tells ANVL to update the existing workflow. If this is missed, a duplicate workflow may be created instead.
Important: Refresh the browser page. This ensures the latest version is available in Editor.
Test the workflow in Demonstration.
NOTE: You must sign out and sign back in to the ANVL Mobile App / ANVL Workflows to test the latest version. Otherwise, the latest changes will appear within 24 hours.
Choose Update again and select the correct groups.
Refresh the browser, open Published, select a Production site in the Group Selector, and confirm the changes appear.
Important notes
Always start from the latest Published version.
Always choose Update unless you intentionally want a new workflow.
Create will create a duplicate workflow.
Updates apply to future launches only.
In Progress and completed workflows are not changed.
If you publish using Create to a new Workflow Category, ANVL will create a duplicate. If that happens, contact ANVL Support to remove it.
