How do I configure a workflow template?

Make changes to an in-progress workflow template before it is published.

Written by Lauren Baird

Answer

Configure workflow templates in Draft before publishing. Drafts are not visible to end users and do not affect live workflows or reporting until you publish them. If you are still refining wording, logic, routing, or question behavior, you should be working in a Draft.

Steps

Open the draft

  1. Open ANVL Insights.

  2. Go to MobilizeEditor.

  3. Open Drafts in the left menu.

  4. Select the draft you want to edit.

Edit question details

  1. Select a question in the workflow diagram.

  2. Update the question settings as needed, such as:

    • Category

    • Question text

    • Question type

    • Embedded media

    • Response options

    • Allow Stored Media for photo questions

Add links, guidance, or supervisor details in question text
Use markup in the question text when you want to add interactive help.

Re-route a path

  1. Delete the existing route.

  2. Drag from the end connector of the first question to the start connector of the next question.

  3. Confirm the route type and settings.

  4. Save your changes.

Edit the workflow name

  1. Open the Workflow tab in the right panel.

  2. Update the Name field.

  3. Save your changes.

Save while you work

  1. Select Save regularly as you make changes.

  2. Continue refining the draft until it is ready for testing or publishing.

Helpful tips

  • While editing, add your site name or initials to the draft name so others know it is in progress.

  • Remove temporary labels before publishing so users see a clean workflow name.

  • Be cautious when deleting questions from a draft that may later replace an existing published workflow. That can affect reporting continuity.

  • Allow Stored Media lets users choose photos from their device instead of only taking a photo live.

  • Draft changes remain safe until you explicitly publish them.
