Before You Start (Important)
Power BI reporting is permission-based. To access ANVL Power BI reports, you need:
A Power BI Pro license
Access enabled by your organization
A link to your ANVL Power BI workspace
(often available from the ANVL Analytics menu at insights.anvl.com)
If you don’t see the reports, contact your administrator.
What’s Included in ANVL Power BI
Every ANVL subscription includes 7 standard Power BI report pages.
These reports cover 80%+ of common executive and leadership questions without custom development.
Each page answers a different type of question.
1. Trending Metrics - “How are we doing over time?”
Use this page to:
Track weekly and monthly trends
Monitor completion, quality, and activity metrics
Compare performance across sites or supervisors
Best for:
Monthly and quarterly reporting
Leadership updates
Long-term trend analysis
2. Weekly Summary - “What happened this week?”
Use this page to:
See how many workflows were completed
Identify top-performing sites and users
Compare week-over-week changes
Includes:
Completion counts
% change from previous week
Breakdown by site, role, and user
Best for:
Weekly check-ins
Operational reviews
Supervisor accountability
3. Escalations & Actions - “Where are our biggest challenges?”
This is one of the most powerful reports.
Use it to:
Analyze stops, flags, concerns, and interventions
Identify recurring problem areas
See which topics trigger the most escalations
Powered by question tags!
You can:
Drill into specific questions
See affected users and sites
Track trends up or down over time
Best for:
Leading indicator analysis
Corporate EHS or Operational oversight

4. Open Text Analysis - “What are people actually saying?”
This report analyzes free-text responses.
Use it to:
Search for specific words or phrases (e.g., “traffic”, “fire”)
Identify common themes across workflows
Filter by site, supervisor, or role
Tip:
Searching for punctuation (like !) can surface urgency or frustration
Best for:
Data mining
Identifying emerging risks
Finding issues not captured by checkboxes
5. Workflow Drilldown - “Show me the details.”
This page lets you:
Drill from summary metrics → individual workflows
Compare performance across multiple sites
Review binary/checklist responses at scale
Difference from Manager Dashboard:
This drilldown spans multiple groups, not just one site
Best for:
Cross-site comparisons
Regional or enterprise analysis
6. Raw Data Export - “Give me everything in an Excel”
This report provides:
A flat, table-style view of all ANVL data
Exportable format for Excel or further analysis
Best for:
Analysts
Custom calculations
External reporting needs
7. ANVL Scores (Strength Score & Power Score) - “Where should we focus?”
This page combines ANVL’s proprietary metrics:
Strength Score
Measures workflow quality, such as:
Time spent
Photos added
Hazards identified
Helps combat “pencil whipping.” Completely configurable by client.
Completion / Goal Tracking
Measures how close teams are to defined goals
(e.g., JSAs per week, observations per month).
Power Score
Combines quality + completion into one score.
Use it to:
Rank sites
Identify struggling locations
Prioritize coaching or intervention
