How do I copy and paste workflow questions and routes in the Editor?

Use copy and paste in the Workflow Editor to quickly duplicate one or more nodes in a draft template. This is helpful when you need to reuse similar questions, logic sections, or workflow steps without building each one from scratch.

Answer

Use the copy and paste keyboard shortcuts to duplicate one or more workflow questions and their connected routes within the same draft template. This allows you to quickly reuse sections of a workflow without rebuilding each question individually.

Steps

  1. Open the draft workflow template in the Frontline Operations Editor.

  2. Select the question or questions you want to copy.

    • To select multiple questions and their connected routes, hold Ctrl (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd (Mac) while selecting each question.

    • Selected questions are highlighted, and a bounding box appears around the selected items.

  3. Copy the selected questions:

    • Windows: Press Ctrl + C

    • Mac: Press ⌘ Cmd + C

  4. Paste the copied questions into the same draft template:

    • Windows: Press Ctrl + V

    • Mac: Press ⌘ Cmd + V

  5. Move the duplicated questions and routes to the desired location on the workflow canvas.

  6. Review the copied questions and routes before publishing to ensure:

    • Question text and instructions are correct.

    • Routes connect to the appropriate questions.

    • Any branching logic or validation still functions as expected.

    • The duplicated questions are positioned correctly within the workflow.
