Answer
ANVL workflows move forward along the path the user chooses, and each completed workflow is a record of what happened at the time. Add a Note extends that record. You build a short path that starts at a Note node, asks the user which section they want to add to, and routes them to a matching question. This article covers the basic build, then the configuration options that keep it consistent across your workflows.
Steps
Before you Begin
Confirm you have access to the Workflow Editor and can create and publish workflows in your group.
Identify the sections of your workflow that users are most likely to add to after completion (for example, Task Description, Hazard Identification, or Supervisor Authorization).
For each section, note the question type, Category, and Tags used in the original. Your Note questions should match them.
Work from a Draft so you can launch and test every route before publishing.
Build the basic Note flow
Open the Workflow Editor and select your workflow from Drafts, or create a new draft.
Find the "Note" node on the workflow template.
Drag a Checklist Radio Question onto the canvas and connect the Note node to it.
Select the radio question. In the Question tab, enter the Question Text (for example, “What section would you like to add to?”) and add one option per section.
Add the question each section needs from the Library. For example, Section 1 can use an Open Text question and Section 2 a Yes/No question.
Draw a route from the radio question to each section’s question, and label each route with its option name.
Add a Default route from the radio question.
Connect each section’s question to an End Workflow node.
Save & Publish
Best practices
Build the Note path when you build the parent workflow.
Standardize the pattern across your workflows: the same entry label, the same catch-all option, and the same route colors.
Let reviewers and leaders know where added Notes appear on the workflow summary.
