The most common reasons for rejection are:
Disposable income is too low
If the calculation of your household's income and expenses shows that your monthly disposable income is too low, the application will be declined. We are obliged to ensure that you have enough room in your budget to repay the credit.
Missing or insufficient bank data
To assess your finances correctly, we need access to your history from your primary bank account. You will be declined if:
We cannot retrieve data for the last 6 months.
There are too few transactions (fewer than 20 in the last month or under 60 in the last two months combined). This often happens if you use a newly created account or an account you rarely use.
Solution: If you have recently changed banks, you can try applying again and connecting both your old and your new accounts.
We cannot see your income via eSkat
If we cannot verify your income through eSkat, we cannot approve you.
Are you self-employed? As a self-employed (sole proprietorship), you do not have a classic payslip. Instead, we look at your annual statement and the result you have reported. If you have not reported figures for the recent months or the year, or if the data is missing in eSkat, the system will decline you. Once you have reported to Skat, and the data is updated with them, you can try to apply again.
A levy has been registered against your assets
If a levy (udlæg) has been registered in your assets (e.g., car, home, or deposit) via the Enforcement Court (Fogedretten), we cannot offer credit.
Check it yourself: You can view your registrations at tinglysning.dk or contact the Enforcement Court. If the levy is outdated or the debt is paid, the creditor must ensure it is deleted from the land registry (Tinglysningen) before you can be approved by us.
Active credit warning (RKI or Credit Ban)
If you are registered in RKI/Debitor Registret, or if you have an active credit warning (kreditspærre) in the CPR register, your application will automatically be declined. You can view and correct your credit warning status at borger.dk.
What can you do now? If you believe the rejection is due to an error (e.g., missing bank data), you are welcome to apply again once you have corrected the error - for example, by choosing a different bank account with more activity. However, if the rejection is due to debt or disposable income, the result will often be the same until your financial situation changes.
