Automating the matching and bonusing

If you have a "tip your tech program" for Google reviews, turning on a couple of settings in Applause will allow you to automate a bonus being sent out in real-time to an employee users' mobile app account. Applause uses an algorithm with several different data points to reach a certain level of "confidence" in matching an employee to a Google Review.

To turn on the automation, go to the Bonuses page > and then Settings.

Scroll down and the one of the top Automated Bonuses is the Google Review Bonus.

-Start bonusing on is the day you want to the system to send out bonuses if it an employee can be matched to the review. You can move this date back retroactively if you would like to, and not just for reviews moving forward.

-Set the google rating required for a bonus to be earned

-Enter the amount that you pay per google review bonus

-Select a Bonus Category or create your own if you want these to be tracked differently for payroll purposes

-Slide on the automate button and then click the blue "Update settings" button at the bottom of the page

Applause will now automate sending out the money amount entered in your settings when it is confident enough in matching an employee to a Google review bonus.

You will know if the automated bonus went out for a specific review by viewing that in the History feed in the Bonuses page.

Or when looking at a location's reviews page - the lightning bolt icon is listed next to the employee's name the review was matched to.

Manually matching and sending out bonuses

Manually matching from the Bonuses page:

You can manually match and send a bonus for a Google review if there are some reviews that weren't able to be automatically matched or the automation is turned off in your settings. This is done most easily in the Bonuses page, but can also be done in the Reviews page.

This 40 second video will also show you how this process works or you can continue below for a step-by-step walk through.

From the Bonuses page:

Click "Review" in the Google Reviews box

This will then bring up a Bonus on Reviews window (this window only shows Google Reviews that a Bonus has not been paid out on). Once you pay out a bonus from this window, the review will go away, because the review has been "bonused".

You can apply filters at the top or just go through each review and match a employee to that review and then send the bonus, if you are able to verify which employee should be matched to the review.

Depending on the review, Applause will provide suggestions of who the employee that should be matched to the review or you can just click the search bar for your employee list and match them to the review that way.

When you have clicked the blue "Match" button for an employee, your bonus amount for google reviews that is pre-set in your bonus settings (in this example $5) is pre-loaded, you then click the blue "Send bonus" button at the bottom right of the page.

If there is a review that you aren't able verify and match an employee to a review, you can click "Ignore review" and that will be taken out of the list of reviews to send a bonus on (it does not remove the review from Google).

Manually matching from the Reviews page:

You will see that under a review it says [Unmatched]

Click into the review and then the "Review Match" button.

This then brings up the same window you would see out of the Bonuses page. Match whatever employee should be matched to the review, then click View Match.

When you click View Match, this pop-up below will show up and you can click the blue "GIVE BONUS" button. That will then send them the Google Review bonus for that specific review.
