Step 1: Upload an Auction
Once your auction goes live on your website (usually 2-3 weeks before the closing date of the auction), you will need to upload a file with the required item details to your Artbrain account.

After uploading an auction, Artbrain will fetch any links and images not included in your upload from your website, and the system will get to work matching your items to your customers. Depending on the size of the auction, it may take up to a few hours for the recommendations to finish generating.
Review Customers Recommendations

Step 2: Create your Campaigns
Please review this guide for a breakdown of the recommended sequence of personalized campaigns ahead of an auction, along with a tool to help you optimize your campaign schedule.
You have a wide variety of campaigns to choose from - Recommendations (fully personalized), Trending (semi-personalized), Resend, General, Consignment, Telephone, and Print Catalog. Head over to the Campaigns section of the Help Center for more details.

Step 3: Send the Campaigns
After editing the design and sender information, save the campaign. When the recommendations are finished generating, send a test email to yourself, and send the email when you're satisfied. Repeat for a Trending Campaign if you plan to send one.
βA Resend Campaign will be automatically created to go out 48 hours after the sending time of your Recommendations campaign. This is sent to customers who received the Recommendations campaign but didn't open it. You have the option to disable the auto-resend (though we strongly recommend sending it to boost engagement and bidding!).
Step 4: Upload Auction Results & New Customers
At the end of each sale, it is very important to upload the Hammers & Bids results as well as new customer details to your Artbrain account.Β

New customers that are not uploaded to the database will not be targeted in future Campaigns if their email addresses are not added to Artbrain. Please review this Customers guide to help you through the uploading process.
Step 5: Review Campaign & Auction Performance
Review the performance of a campaign by clicking 'View Report' on the campaign:
In the Campaign Report, you can find open rate, click rate, CTOR, bounce rate, unsubscribers, and export lists of customers who performed specific actions in the campaign, as well as view customers' recommended items.
In the Post Auction report, analyze your successful matches and reactivated customers, understand auction-specific campaign performance, details of bidding segments such as New Bidders or Active Bidders, and track sales stats.
