Overview

After launching your ads, the Ad Details panel provides a centralized view of each ad’s delivery performance, issues, and optimization options. This guide covers four key areas you can monitor and manage from the Ad Details panel:

  • Status vs. Effective Status — understanding the two status fields and what they mean

  • Issue Info — identifying and troubleshooting errors or policy violations

  • Creative Enhancement — viewing and managing Meta’s automatic optimization settings

  • Preview & Ads Manager — previewing your ad and jumping to Meta Ads Manager for full editing

Accessing the Ad Details Panel

To open the Ad Details panel, go to the Launch page and click “View details” on any launched task.

Understanding Status vs. Effective Status

The Ad Details panel includes two distinct status columns.

  • Status: The Status column reflects the configuration you set manually for the ad. It indicates whether you have chosen to keep the ad active or have intentionally paused or archived it.

  • Effective Status: The Effective Status column shows the actual delivery status of the ad as determined by Meta. Even if you set an ad to ACTIVE, Meta may not deliver it due to factors such as policy reviews, account issues, or campaign-level settings. The Effective Status gives you the real picture of what is happening with your ad.

Troubleshooting with Issue Info

The Issue Info column displays any errors, warnings, or policy violations associated with each ad. When an ad encounters a problem, this column provides actionable details to help you understand what went wrong and how to resolve it.

To view the full error details, click on the issue indicator for a specific ad. An “Ad error” panel will slide open showing:

Managing Creative Enhancements

The Creative Enhancement column shows how many Meta enhancements are currently enabled or disabled for each ad. Creative enhancements are automatic optimizations applied by Meta to improve your ad’s performance across different placements and audiences.

Each enhancement shows a toggle indicating whether it is enabled or disabled. The panel also displays when the enhancement configuration was last updated.

Previewing Ads

Click the eye icon to preview your ad. This opens a preview directly within Meta, showing you exactly how the ad appears to your audience. You can switch between different placement previews (such as Mobile Feed) to verify the creative looks correct across all formats.

Opening in Ads Manager

Click the external link icon to jump directly to the ad in Meta Ads Manager. This takes you to the full editing interface where you can make changes to the ad’s settings, creative, targeting, budget, and more. The Ads Manager view provides complete control over every aspect of the ad, including campaign recommendations from Meta.
