Meta is automatically pausing Ad sets
To address the issue with the Meta integration automatically pausing ad sets, please follow the steps below:
Meta treats audience changes (like adding new emails) as a structural modification, which can trigger ad set pausing for consistency and to avoid targeting inaccuracies. Please refer to Meta's article: Pause or resume automated ads
Steps to Mitigate the Issue:
Disable Auto-Pausing (if available): Check Meta’s audience settings or ad rules to see if automatic pausing on audience changes can be disabled.
Duplicate Ad Sets: As a workaround, consider duplicating the ad set with the updated list when adding new emails to avoid interruptions in campaigns. Check out: How to duplicate an ad in Meta Ads Manager
Escalation to Meta Support:
If these steps don't resolve the issue, contact Meta support to explore additional settings or adjustments they can make on their end to manage audience changes without disrupting your ads.
Meta frequently makes platform updates, which can sometimes disrupt or reset integrations. Re-authorising the connection can help re-sync permissions when this happens.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Meta (Facebook) Integration
Frequently Asked Questions about the Meta (Facebook) Integration
1. What can be expected when connected with Facebook integration and the sync of data?
A custom audience is an ad targeting option that lets you find your existing audiences among people across Meta technologies. You can use sources such as customer lists, website or app traffic, or engagement across Meta technologies, to create custom audiences of people who already know your business. The different types of custom audiences you can create:
Website custom audiences
App activity custom audience
Customer list custom audience
Engagement custom audiences
You can create up to 500 custom audiences per ad account. Audience Republic syncs with Customer Segments created, or customer lists that sync across automatically, saving you time with manual csv imports. When you're ready to grow your business further, you can use your custom audience to create a lookalike audience. Lookalike Audiences are lists of people to target with advertising who are similar to (or 'look like') the people currently engaging with your business.
2. How does Audience Republic ensure data goes to the right ad account?
Based on the assigned ad account, segments are created within it and are used only for that ad account.
3. Is Audience capped? You can create up to 500 custom audiences per ad account. Audience Republic's segments contribute to the 500 caps per ad account depending on your other sources (app activity, website etc)
4. Can Audience Republic automatically remove a customer from the audience even though it is being removed in that segment? If a customer is removed from a segment, it will stay in the Audience Table until that customer is deleted. To delete this cohort from the table, you can do a filtered search result, such as 'Unsubscribed from list'.
5. How can we determine which segments have synced data in Audience Republic?
The Audience Manager Filter is the quickest way to tell what segments have recipients in it.
6. What limitations are associated with this integration?
The integration is a useful tool that replaces the previous manual process of uploading lists. The limitation of this tool depends on the amount of customer data you keep per recipient. Meta uses a concept called Identifiers (such as email, age, location, etc.) which aids in ad reach. The more data you provide on recipients, the better the results will be.
7. Can we modify the segments that are being sent back to Facebook?
Only Audience segments are sent to Meta Facebook. No event or ticket sales information is included in the integration.
8. How can I exclude customers who have already purchased tickets from seeing my ads?
Use the "not" option in the audience filter to exclude specific fans who have purchased tickets. This ensures your ads only target potential new customers.
9. How often does the Audience Republic segment sync with Meta?
Syncing occurs every hour. Customers generally do not require real-time updates, making this frequency sufficient for most use cases.
10. Can I track who clicks on links in my ads through Audience Republic?
Not currently. This feature is tied to tracking pixels, which is in development for a future release.
11. Can I create custom audiences based on multiple segments?
Yes, you can combine multiple segments within Audience Republic to create a custom audience in Meta, allowing for more refined targeting.
12. How does the Audience Republic integration improve ad targeting?
By syncing precise segments directly into Meta, you avoid the broad and often imprecise targeting methods, saving both time and money while increasing ad relevance.
13. Can I use Audience Republic to build lookalike audiences in Meta?
Yes, once you’ve created a custom audience in Meta, you can use it to generate lookalike audiences, expanding your reach to similar potential customers.
14. Can I create a custom audience based on past event attendees?
Yes, you can sync data from past event attendees in Audience Republic and create a custom audience to target them in Meta for future events.
15. How do I ensure my ad spend is focused on the right audience?
Use the exclusion feature to remove those who have already purchased tickets or shown no interest in similar events, ensuring your budget is spent on the most relevant audience.
16. How can I see the effectiveness of my custom audiences?
Monitor your ad campaign performance in Meta, looking at metrics like click-through rates, conversion rates, and cost per acquisition to assess audience effectiveness.
17. Can I use Audience Republic to segment audiences based on social media behavior?
While Audience Republic does not directly track social media behavior, you can create segments based on customer data such as email or phone, which can be cross-referenced with Meta’s targeting options.
18. How does Audience Republic handle customer data privacy during the integration?
Audience Republic complies with data privacy regulations and ensures that all data is securely transmitted and stored according to industry standards.
19. Can I schedule my ad campaigns within Audience Republic?
While Audience Republic allows you to sync audiences, the scheduling and management of ad campaigns must be done directly within Meta’s Ad Manager.
20. What if a customer changes their email or phone number?
Audience Republic’s dynamic segment updates ensure that the most current data is always synced with Meta, maintaining the accuracy of your custom audiences.
21. How do I use customer feedback to improve my ad targeting?
