How Do I Use Click To Call?

Click-to-Call enables users to initiate voice calls with a simple click on a button embedded into your website or app. It’s designed to eliminate barriers between customers and businesses by offering immediate access to support or sales teams.

This feature uses WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) technology, ensuring:

  • Crystal-clear audio quality.

  • Secure, encrypted connections.

  • A seamless, browser-based experience without the need for additional software.

1. Add a SIP Connection in Live Hub

  • Log in to the Live Hub portal.

  • Navigate to SIP Connections and click Add New SIP Connection.

  • Choose Client Application as the connection type and provide the required details, such as the server address and credentials.

  • Save and test the connection to ensure everything is working correctly.

2. Configure WebRTC for Click-to-Call

  • Go to the WebRTC settings in Live Hub:
    WebRTC Configuration Guide.

  • Enable the Click-to-Call feature for the SIP connection.

  • Generate an Authentication Token to secure your calls.

  • Define routing rules to ensure calls reach the appropriate team or department.

3. Embed the Click-to-Call Button in Intercom

  • Generate the JavaScript code snippet from the Live Hub portal.

  • Add the snippet to your Intercom chat widget’s custom code section.

  • Customize the button’s design, text, and placement to align with your brand.

4. Test and Optimize

  • Perform test calls to confirm the setup works as expected.

  • Monitor analytics in Live Hub to identify call trends and optimize routing.

5. Go Live!

  • Activate the Click-to-Call button in your Intercom widget and inform your team about the new feature.
