Report of the Video Time activity

The report area of the Video Time activity (Pro only)

Updated over a week ago

When viewing a Video Time activity as an administrator or teacher with the appropriate permissions, a Report tab is available.

This report provides a detailed overview of all tracking data collected for that specific Video Time activity.

The report is useful for monitoring engagement and configuring individual completion conditions.

Which users are displayed in the report

The report only includes users who are enrolled in the course. Guests are not shown. Administrators’ viewing activity is tracked, but it appears in the report only if they are enrolled.

Tracked user data is deleted when the Video Time activity is removed or when the tracked user no longer exists.

This behavior was introduced with the release of Video Time 1.9 R1.

Information per user

The report shows the following data for each user:

  • User info

Displays the user’s name and email address.

  • Views

Number of times the activity page was loaded.

  • Watch time

Total time spent watching the video.

  • Covered time

Shows which sections of the video the user has watched at least once.

  • Watch percent

The furthest point the user has reached in the video (expressed as a percentage).

  • State

Indicates whether the user has completed watching the video.

  • Progress

Visual indicator of the covered time relative to the full video length.

  • Actions

Option to delete user session data.

Additional features

  • Download the report in various formats.

  • Adjust the page size to display more or fewer records.

Detailed user report

You can access detailed tracking data for a specific user by clicking on their view count or progress bar in the main report table.
Once in this view, you can switch between users using the search field at the top.

This detailed report includes three sections:

  • Summary
Displays key statistics about the user’s interaction with the video, along with a graph showing all collected tracking data.

  • Sessions
Lists each session, where a session represents a continuous interaction with the video on a single page without navigating away.

  • Segments
Shows a table of all individual video sections the user has watched. Each row represents a continuous segment watched without seeking or skipping.

When viewing a detailed report of a live event, you can choose between:

  • Show all events – displays tracking for both the live event and the recording.

  • Show live events – displays tracking only for the live event.

  • Show on demand – displays tracking only for the recording.

The detailed report was introduced with the release of Video Time 1.9 R1.
