Manage purposes globally in Designer

Configure icons, styling, and availability of purposes across all courses using the Designer format. (Pro only)

About

To manage purposes globally go to Site administration > Plugins > Course formats > Designer Format > Manage purposes.

Here you find a table of all purposes with their icon, title, status, and an edit button.


Available settings

  • Enable/Disable

    Quickly enable or disable a purpose by clicking the eye icon.
    ​Activities grouped under a disabled purpose will not be displayed as an icon in their sections.

  • Actions

    Click "Edit" to adjust settings for each purpose:

    • Enable – Check the box to enable the purpose.

    • Purpose icon – Enter the icon code in the text field or click the field to open a modal window and select an icon.

    • Custom class for styling – Add a custom CSS class to style the purpose.
