You find the global general settings for Designer in Site administration > Plugins > Course formats > Designer Format > General settings and then in the tab General.
There are two types of settings here:
Standard global settings – These affect all course instances immediately. Displayed bold and include an explanation of the setting.
Default settings – These apply only to instances created after the default is set. They can:
be marked as advanced, which hides them behind the “Show more...” link in the instance settings.
be changed later at course level.
Available settings
Date format
Select the date format from the available options. All dates in Designer will be displayed this way, for example the completion date of an activity.
Flow animation duration
Set the time in seconds for the duration of the flow animation when using the Flow type in Designer.
Hero activity

Show as tab
Order
Avoid duplicate entry
If enabled, an opened hero activity only displays the hero activity link in the secondary menu. The standard activity entry will not be shown.
