The Timetable block

Add, configure, and use the Timetable block to display calendar entries in Moodle

The Timetable block provides a compact overview of all existing calendar entries, including Timetable's scheduled activities and assignments. It can also display completion visuals. Like any other Moodle block, it can be added to any page where Moodle allows blocks.


Add the block

  1. Turn editing on.

  2. Select "Add a block" where available.

  3. Choose Timetable.

  4. To configure the block settings, open the three dot menu and select "Configure Timetable block".


Available settings

Block settings

  • Default view – Choose today, this week, or upcoming as the initial display.

Available view

  • Today – Allow users to change view to todays entries.

  • This week – Allow users to change view to this weeks entries.

  • Upcoming – Allow users to change view to upcoming entries.

  • Limit of event – Limit how many events are displayed at once by entering a number.

  • Select view – Choose whether to display calendar entries vertically or horizontally.

  • Show events – Enable to display calendar entries.

  • Show completion visuals – Enable to display activity completion visuals.

  • Visual timeline – Enable a visual timeline where each course is displayed on its own line.

  • Hide completed course – Exclude completed courses from the visual timeline.

  • Hide completed activities – Exclude completed activities from the visual timeline.

Note: The sections "Where this block appears" and "On this page" follow the standard Moodle block configuration.
