Besty is designed to avoid sending upsells, automated messages, or AI responses to owner stays and owner-guest stays — these are not typical guest interactions and shouldn't be treated as such.
How Besty identifies owner reservations
Besty relies on the reservation type set in your PMS. In Guesty, reservations marked as Owner (O) or Owner-Guest (OG) are automatically excluded from:
Upsell offers (late checkout, extra nights, early check-in)
Automated journey messages
AI autopilot responses
If an owner reservation is incorrectly receiving these communications, check that the reservation source in Guesty is properly set to "Owner" or "Owner-Guest."
What if an owner reservation still received an upsell?
If Besty sent an upsell to an owner or owner-guest stay, the reservation may not have been correctly tagged in your PMS. Update the reservation type in Guesty and contact your support channel to remove the upsell from your ROI dashboard.
Booking confirmations for owner reservations
If owner bookings are triggering automated confirmation messages or check-in journey messages, verify that your journey settings have the correct reservation type filters applied. You can exclude specific booking sources (e.g., Owner, Owner-Guest) in your journey configuration in Besty.
