What's in General Settings?

General settings cover account-wide configuration options.

Listing sets

Listing sets let you group listings together — for example, listings with pools, pet-friendly listings, homes, or condos.

Your phone number

A guest-requested feature that Besty sets up by obtaining a phone number for you. It is used to:

  • Set up SMS messaging so you can send and receive SMS with guests.

  • Allow phone calls to be recorded and sent to your Besty inbox.

Call recording can be configured by day or per listing, set to record and summarize the conversation, and set to issue a 2-second automated disclaimer letting the guest know the call is being recorded.

Connecting your email account

This links your email with the unified inbox. The email should be the one you use on your PMS, since Besty will pull in any automated or journey emails sent from your PMS and add them to your unified inbox.

  • For "in the weeds" PMS platforms like Streamline and Escapia, be sure the email the client uses for those is the email set on Besty.

  • For Airbnb resolution centers, if the email differs from your PMS, add the email used in the resolution center and check read only so that guest messages are not sent from this email — only received. The user will then have two emails connected.

Email HTML templates

Templates for autopilot emails, upsells, and the dashboard.

General

  • Stripe connection — so guests can be charged.

  • Hosting company name and Hosting agent — these two fields are used when an offer is sent as the first message to a guest, and display at the end of the message. The hosting company name appears next to the email on the sent email, and the hosting agent is used for the email signature. If your team works with multiple users you can fill these in; if a single person, both can be left blank.
