Add or import shipping packages for Easyship

Shipping packages describe the mailers and boxes you use. Accurate outer dimensions and empty weight help Easyship calculate realistic prices, especially when carriers use dimensional weight.

Packages are optional. If you do not save one, Beventi uses standard package sizes. Saving your real packaging usually produces a closer estimate, while any saved package you skip will be quoted from the item's own dimensions.

Add a package manually

  1. In Beventi, open Integrations > Easyship.

  2. Select Packages.

  3. Select Add package.

  4. Enter a clear name.

  5. Enter the package's outside length, width and height.

  6. Choose centimeters or inches.

  7. Enter the empty package weight and choose kilograms or pounds.

  8. Add a maximum weight if the package has one.

  9. Choose whether it should be your default package.

  10. Save the package.

Measure the outside of the closed package, not the space inside it. Empty weight means the mailer or box before products and packing material are added.

Package examples

Use your own measured values. These examples show how to describe common packaging:

  • Single book mailer: 25 × 18 × 4 cm, 0.15 kg empty weight.

  • Two-book mailer: 30 × 22 × 8 cm, 0.25 kg empty weight.

  • Box set carton: 35 × 25 × 15 cm, 0.45 kg empty weight, with an optional maximum weight based on the carton rating.

Do not copy example measurements without checking your packaging. A difference of a few centimeters can change a carrier's dimensional-weight price.

Import boxes from Easyship

  1. On Packages, select Import from Easyship.

  2. Choose the unit system for the import.

  3. Review the Easyship boxes available.

  4. Select the boxes you want.

  5. Confirm the import.

Dimensions and weights on an imported Easyship box are provider-managed. To update them, change the box in Easyship and import it again. You can still rename the Beventi package or make it the default.

Choose packages when enabling live rates

When you enable Easyship on an order form, Beventi can make your saved packages available to the packing calculation. Select the package sizes you genuinely use for those products.

For example, a paperback-only form may need the single and two-book mailers. A special-edition box set form may also need the larger carton.

Review packages after changes

Run a new test quote when you:

  • Add or remove a package.

  • Change dimensions or empty weight.

  • Change the default package.

  • Begin selling a product that needs a different box.

FAQ

Do I need a package before I can enable live rates?

No. Missing packages are a recommendation, not a blocker. Product and variant measurements still need to be complete.

What is the difference between product weight and empty package weight?

Product weight describes what you sell. Empty package weight describes the mailer or box. The shipment includes both.

Should I make my biggest box the default?

Usually not. Choose the packaging used most often, then keep other sizes available for larger baskets.

Can I edit an imported Easyship box in Beventi?

You can rename it or change whether it is the default. Re-import from Easyship to update provider-managed dimensions or weight.
