Check your direct sales forms
Check your wholesale sales and repeat buyers
Check your ticket sales and how many places are left
Tip: New to Reports? Start with Check how your sales are going.
See your best-selling books
Step 1: Choose your dates
In Reports, click the date button at the top of the page.
Choose Lifetime to see everything you've ever sold, or pick dates that cover the sales you're curious about.
Click Apply.
Step 2: Open the Products tab
Click on the Products tab.
Click Books to see only your books. You can also choose Bundles, Merch, or All.
The list will be sorted by Units sold, with your best seller at the top. Click a column heading, like Line revenue, to sort by something else.
Step 3: Narrow the list (optional)
Event preorders only: click All channels at the top of the page and choose Event preorders.
One event: use the All events dropdown on the Products tab to pick an event.
One book: type its title into Search titles. The search will look at titles only, not author names or ISBNs.
Step 4: See each format
Switch from By product to By variant.
You'll see a separate row for each option your buyers picked, such as "Hardback" or "Paperback."
Step 5: Open a book's details
Click any row to open a side panel for that item.
You'll see its line revenue, all-time totals, units, orders, average price, a split by format and Where it sold.
Click Edit product if you'd like to make changes to the item.
What the numbers mean:
Units sold: how many were bought, including any you later refunded.
Orders: how many orders included this item. An order with three different books will count once on each book's row, so these won't add up to your total orders.
Line revenue: the item's price times the number sold, before order discounts, shipping, fees, and refunds. It's a great way to see what's popular, but note that this amount does not equal what you earned.
Units refunded and Refunded: these will appear when an item on the page had a refund.
Last ordered: the date of the item's latest order in your dates.
Note: A bundle counts as its own item, so each bundle sold will add one unit to the bundle's row. The books inside it won't be added to their own rows. Tickets and ticket add-ons won't appear here; you'll find them on the Tickets tab.
Note: Each order keeps the price it sold at, so changing a product's price later won't change your past sales.
Tip: For a quick look, the Bestsellers card on the Overview will show your top 10 books, bundles, and merch.
See how an event went
Step 1: Choose dates that cover your preorders
Orders count on the day they were placed, not the day of the event.
Choose dates that cover when readers ordered, or choose Lifetime if you're not sure.
Step 2: Find your event
Click on the Events tab.
Use All, Upcoming or Past, the All countries filter (where the event was held, with online events under Virtual), or Search events to find it.
If the list is empty, click Clear filters.
Step 3: Open the event
Click the event's row to open its side panel.
You'll see its Net earnings, Orders, Units, Gross sales and Refunded for your dates, along with its all-time totals.
Under Sales channels, you'll see how much came from preorders and how much came from tickets. Click either row to open that order form.
Top products and Top formats will show what sold best at that event.
Note: The Events tab combines each event's preorder and ticket forms. Wholesale orders linked to an event will show on the Wholesale tab instead. An event that sold in two currencies will have a row for each currency, and a deleted event will keep its history with a Deleted event badge.
Note: The Events tab is sorted by net earnings, while the Top events card on the Overview ranks events by units sold, so the order may be different.
Important: The event panel won't show Beventi's fees or which coupon codes were used. To see the fees and discount totals for one event, download your sales and filter them by event (see Download figures for your bookkeeper). Each order form's Overview will also show a Discount total for the form's whole life, and the Redemptions column on the Coupons page will show how many times each code has been used.
Check your direct sales forms
The Direct tab lists your order forms that aren't linked to an event and aren't wholesale, such as your Direct Sales store forms.
Step 1: Open the Direct tab
Click on the Direct tab.
Each row will be one order form, sorted by net earnings.
Step 2: Open a form
Click a form's row to open its side panel.
You'll see its status, net earnings, orders, units, average order and number of buyers.
You'll also see a line-by-line breakdown from Order revenue down to Net earnings, including Beventi's platform fees. This is the only place on screen where Reports shows a fee total. To learn more, see Understand what you earned and spent.
When it sold, Top products and Reach will show when and how your form sold.
What the Reach numbers mean:
Views that ordered: orders compared with page views over the form's whole life. It counts views, not people, and won't follow your dates selected in Reports.
New to you: the share of buyers in your dates who had never ordered from you before.
Came back for more: the share of buyers who placed two or more orders on this form in your dates.
Check your wholesale sales and repeat buyers
Step 1: Open the Wholesale tab
Click on the Wholesale tab.
You'll see your wholesale net earnings, orders, units, refunds, shipping, outstanding balances and reorder rate.
Step 2: Review your buyers
Scroll down to the Buyers table.
Each row will show one bookstore or publisher, with its orders, units, gross and net amounts.
What the numbers mean:
Outstanding: what bookstores still owe on part-paid orders. Orders nobody has paid anything on yet won't be in Reports.
Reorder rate: the share of your wholesale orders that came from bookstores who had ordered from you before, at any time. For example, if 9 of your 12 orders this quarter came from returning bookstores, it will read 75.0%.
First order in period and Last order in period: a buyer's first and latest orders within your dates only, not when they first bought from you.
Shipping collected and Net shipping: what bookstores paid for shipping, before and after discounts, Beventi's fee and shipping refunds.
Note: The Wholesale tab doesn't have a currency switch. If you sell wholesale in more than one currency, it will show your main currency, with a line like "Also £312.40 in GBP" for the others.
Note: If no wholesale orders were placed in your dates, you'll see "Wholesale reporting appears once you have wholesale orders." even if you've had wholesale orders before. Try wider dates or select Lifetime.
Check your ticket sales and places left
If you sell tickets, the Tickets tab will show how each event is selling. It will appear once you have a ticket form that has been on sale, or one for an event that hasn't ended yet.
Step 1: Open the Tickets tab
Click on the Tickets tab.
Step 2: Find your next event
Look under Upcoming. It will list every ticketed event that hasn't ended yet, regardless of the dates you've picked.
Each row will show how many places are filled and left, such as "66 of 200 places · 134 left", plus tickets sold in the last 7 days.
Step 3: Open the event
Click the event to see its places, paid tickets, free tickets, ticket sales and orders.
You'll also see each ticket type, each add-on, and any books or merch bought alongside the tickets.
Click Open the ticket form to go to the form.
What the numbers mean:
Paid tickets: admission tickets priced above $0, less any you refunded.
Free tickets: admission tickets given at no charge, less any you refunded. They take a place but add no money.
Places filled: admissions compared with capacity, for events held in your dates.
Ticket sales: what your tickets and add-ons sold for, before discounts, fees, and refunds. Books and merch bought with tickets will count on the Products tab instead.
Ticket statuses: On sale (a ticket form is open), Sold out (admissions have reached capacity), Not on sale yet (scheduled or in draft), Sales closed (no ticket form is open), Canceled (every ticket form for the event is canceled) and Ended (the event is over).
Important: The four figures at the top will follow your dates, but each event row and its panel will always show the event's all-time totals. That's why the top figures and the event rows may not match.
Note: Add-ons, like a meal or tote bag, won't take a place. A ticket bought with a deposit will count as sold at its full price, and the unpaid balance will show as Outstanding on the Overview.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why are a book's details higher than the row I clicked?
The side panel shows the item across every channel and event for your dates. It won't follow the Products tab's channel, event, type or search filters, so its totals can be higher than the row.
Why can't I find a book or event?
Try wider dates, click Clear filters and check the next page (lists show 25 rows a page). Remember that Search titles looks at titles only, and the country filter is where the event was held, not where your buyers live. On the Events tab, a multi-day event will move from Upcoming to Past after its first day.
Why don't Top formats and By variant match?
Top formats uses the format saved on your catalog item. By variant uses the options your buyers chose at checkout. The two can be different.
What's the difference between Returning customers and Reorder rate?
Returning customers on the Overview is the share of buyers who had ordered from you before, in any channel. Reorder rate on the Wholesale tab is the share of wholesale orders from bookstores who had ordered wholesale from you before.
Why did a refund lower my ticket count but not Ticket sales?
Paid and Free tickets will go down when you refund the whole order or specific tickets (but not when you refund a custom amount). Ticket sales is measured before refunds. To see what you kept after Beventi's fees and refunds, choose the Tickets channel on the Overview and read Net earnings. That figure will also include books and merch bought on ticket forms.
How is an event's capacity worked out?
Reports will use the event capacity set on your ticket form. If there isn't one, but every admission ticket has a stock limit, those limits will be added together. Otherwise, the event will show No limit. If you have more than one ticket form for an event, their capacities will be added together, and if any of them has no capacity, the event will show No limit. Canceled forms won't hold any places. To set a capacity, see Set an event capacity for ticket sales.
What happens to sales from things I've deleted?
Deleting a product, order form or event won't remove its sales. They'll keep counting in your totals. Deleted events won't appear in the Tickets lists, but their ticket money will still count in the figures at the top.
Can I download the Products list?
Not directly. The download in Reports has one row per order, without item details. For a list of items on one order form, open the form and go to Orders > Export, then choose Detailed (One row per item).
