Reports is the place to see how your sales are doing on Beventi. In just a few clicks, you can check how much you've earned this month, see whether your sales are going up or down, and find out where your sales are coming from.
This guide will show you how to:
See how much you've sold in a month (or any dates you choose)
Compare your sales with an earlier period
See your sales over time
Find out where your sales are coming from
Before you start: Reports is available to the account owner and team Admins. If you help an author as an Assistant, you won't see Reports in the menu. To learn how to change a team member's role, see Download figures for your bookkeeper.
See how much you've sold
Step 1: Open Reports
Log in to your Beventi Seller Dashboard.
Click on Reports in the menu.
Reports will open on the Overview tab, showing your sales from the last 30 days across all of your sales channels.
Step 2: Choose your dates
Click the date button at the top of the page. Until you change it, it will say Last 30 days.
Click Month, then choose the month you'd like to see. The month you're in now will be marked "to date".
Click Apply. Every tab will update to show the dates you picked.
Other date options:
Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days and Last 12 months are quick shortcuts. Apart from Yesterday, each one ends today.
Month, Quarter, Year and Fiscal year let you pick a set period. Quarters and fiscal years will follow your financial year. See Download figures for your bookkeeper to set yours.
Lifetime will show everything since your very first order.
You can also pick your own start and end dates on the calendar, up to 731 days (about two years) at a time. You won't be able to pick days after today.
Note: Last 12 months covers the last 365 days, not the last 12 calendar months. For whole months, use Year, Fiscal year or your own dates.
Tip: If you type your dates, write the month as a word, like 10 Jan 2026. Dates typed as numbers are read day first, so 1/10/2026 will be read as 1 October 2026.
Step 3: Read your Overview
At the top of the Overview, you'll see three main numbers for the dates you picked:
Net earnings: the money you've kept from your sales after discounts, Beventi's fees and refunds. It includes the shipping your buyers paid. It won't include balances buyers still owe, and it's before your payment provider (such as Stripe or PayPal) takes its own processing fee.
Orders: how many orders were placed.
Units sold: how many items buyers bought, including tickets and add-ons. A bundle counts as one unit, and items you later refunded will still count here.
Below that, the At a glance card will show a few more figures, such as Gross sales, Refunded, Outstanding and Returning customers (the share of your buyers who had ordered from you before). To learn more about the money figures, see Understand what you earned and spent.
Tip: Hover over (or tap) the info icon next to any figure to see a short definition.
Important: Reports counts each order on the day it was placed, not the day of your event. For example, preorders placed in March for a June signing will show in March. If an event's sales seem to be missing, choose dates that cover when your readers ordered.
Compare your sales with an earlier period
Want to know if this month is better than last month? Compare will show you how your numbers have changed.
Step 1: Turn on Compare
On the Overview or Sales tab, click the date button and choose your dates.
Turn on the Compare switch.
Choose what to compare with, such as Previous month or Same month last year. The earlier dates will show beside your choice.
Click Apply.
Step 2: Read the changes
Each figure will get a small percentage with an arrow showing whether it went up or down.
Green means the change is good news, and red means it isn't. For Refunded and Outstanding, a rise will show in red.
On a computer, you'll also see the earlier amount under each main figure, for example "from $1,200.00".
On the Sales chart, gray bars will show the earlier period behind your current bars.
Note: If the month, quarter or year you chose isn't over yet, it will be compared with the same days of the earlier period. For example, on 10 September, September 1 to 10 will be compared with August 1 to 10, not all of August.
See your sales over time
The Sales tab shows a chart of your sales, so you can spot your busiest days, weeks or months.
Click on the Sales tab.
Above the chart, choose Net earnings, Orders or Units sold.
Choose Day, Week or Month to change how the bars are grouped. Reports will pick one for you based on how long your dates are.
Hover over (or tap) a bar to see its amount.
Under the chart, a breakdown table will list each day, week or month that had orders, with its orders, units, gross sales, discounts and net earnings. Click a column heading to sort the table.
Note: Pins under the chart will mark your 5 events with the most units sold in your dates. Weeks start on Monday.
See where your sales come from
Beventi groups your sales into four sales channels, based on the order form your reader used:
Event preorders: preorders on order forms linked to an event
Tickets: orders on ticket forms, including any books or merch bought on the same form
Direct sales: orders on order forms that aren't linked to an event and aren't wholesale
Wholesale: orders from bookstores on your wholesale listing
Step 1: Check the Where sales came from card
On the Overview tab, scroll to Where sales came from.
You'll see each channel's share of your net earnings, along with its orders and units.
Step 2: Look at one channel
Click a channel in the card, or click All channels at the top of the page and pick one.
The Overview, Sales, Products, and Shipping tabs (and your export) will now show only that channel.
To see everything again, click the same channel again or choose All channels.
Note: The Events, Direct, Wholesale and Tickets tabs always show their own kind of sale, so the channel filter won't change them.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I sell in more than one currency. Can I see one total?
No. Reports will never convert your money or add different currencies together. When you've sold in two or more currencies in your dates, a currency switch will appear inside Net earnings on the Overview, above the Sales chart and on the Products tab. Orders and Units sold will always count every currency. On the Sales chart, bars will be stacked by currency, so the full height of a bar isn't a single total. Other tabs may show a separate row for each currency, or a small +1 chip you can hover over to see the other amounts.
Why can't I turn on Compare, or why is there no percentage?
Compare only works on the Overview and Sales tabs, and it can't be used with Lifetime. No percentage will appear if the earlier amount was zero. Returning customers never shows one.
Why are some chart options missing?
The Day, Week, and Month choices depend on how long your dates are. Day is only offered for up to 92 days. The breakdown table will leave out periods with no orders, even though the chart still shows them.
Reports is empty. What should I check?
Try wider dates or Lifetime, and set the channel back to All channels. Reports only counts orders that have been paid (in full or in part) and $0 orders that were checked out. Unpaid orders and abandoned carts won't show.
I can't see Reports at all. Why?
First, make sure you're in the right account. If you're on someone's team, switch to their account from your profile menu. Only the account owner and Admins can open Reports. Assistants won't see it in the menu, and opening a Reports link will take them to the Dashboard.
I see a message saying my numbers couldn't refresh. What does that mean?
The figures on screen are from the last time the page loaded, so they won't match the dates or filters you just picked. Click Try again or reload the page before using them. If it keeps happening, message our support team with the tab, dates and filters you were using.
Can I use Reports on my phone?
Yes! Swipe sideways to see all of the tabs and filter buttons. On a phone, quick dates, months, quarters and years will apply as soon as you tap them. Your own calendar dates and Compare will still need Apply. A few extras are hidden on small screens to save room.
Can I save or share a view?
Yes. Bookmark the page or copy the link from your browser. It will open the same tab, dates and filters for anyone who can open Reports on your account. Rolling dates like Last 30 days will move forward each day, while a set month, quarter or year will always open on the same dates.
