Troubleshooting – Incorrect Membership Pricing

This article explains step by step how to identify why a member has been charged an incorrect price for their membership.

Written by Ronny Christensen

1. Check membership type and pricing setup

Start by checking the relevant membership type.

How to do it:

  1. Go to Memberships

  2. Open the relevant membership type

  3. Go to the Price tab

2. Check active prices

Make sure:

  • There is an active standard price

  • The price has a valid time period

  • The price is not expired or in the future

⚠️ If no active standard price exists, the system cannot assign a correct price.

3. Check validity period

  • Start date is correct

  • End date is not exceeded

  • No overlapping price periods

👉 The system always uses the price active at the time of purchase.

4. Check age groups

  • No overlapping age intervals allowed

  • Avoid duplicate coverage of the same age range

Recommended setup:

  • 0–30 years

  • 30+ years

5. Check VAT and tax settings

  • Correct VAT rate

  • Correct tax configuration

  • Inclusive/exclusive pricing setup

6. Important – historical price validity

👉 The system uses the price that was active at purchase time, not the current one.

7. Conclusion

Common causes:

  • Missing active standard price

  • Wrong or expired price period

  • Overlapping age groups

  • VAT configuration issues

  • Historical pricing changes

If the issue persists

  • Member name

  • Membership type

  • Purchase date

  • Expected price

  • Actual price
