Important
If the penalty has not been charged yet, it can be removed directly
If the penalty has already been invoiced and charged, it must be refunded
1. Penalty not yet charged
If the penalty is still active and has not been paid, it can be removed directly from the member.
How to do it:
Go to the member profile
Open the “Billing” tab
Go to the “Penalties” section
In this section, you can see:
The time of the penalty
The reason for the penalty
Whether the penalty has been charged or not
Find the relevant penalty
Click the three dots (⋮) next to the penalty
Select remove/delete penalty
2. Penalty already charged
If the penalty has already been invoiced and paid, it cannot be deleted.
Instead, you must refund it via the invoice.
How to do it:
Find the invoice on the member
Open the invoice
Locate the penalty on the invoice line items
Click the three dots (⋮) next to the penalty
Select “Refund”
This will return the amount to the member.
Result
Uncharged penalties can be removed directly
Charged penalties must be refunded via the invoice
The member’s financial record updates automatically depending on the action

Always check the penalty status before making changes to ensure you use the correct method.
