If your campaign is active but isn't generating impressions or spending any budget, work through the checklist below to identify and resolve the issue.
Check 1: Verify your account balance
The most common reason a campaign stops spending is an insufficient account balance. Campaigns automatically stop participating in auctions when available funds reach zero.
Go to Advertiser Tools and select your advertiser.
Open Payment.
Check your Current Balance (not Total Balance, which includes pending wire transfers that have not yet cleared).
If your Current Balance is zero or close to zero, add funds to your account. For instructions, see how to fund your account.
Check 2: Confirm your campaign and ad group are active
Go to the Campaigns page.
Verify the campaign status is Active (not Pending, Paused, or Ended).
Expand the campaign and confirm the ad group is also Active.
Important: Newly created campaigns may remain in Pending status for several minutes while they're activated. If a campaign is still pending after more than three hours, contact Support.
If the campaign has reached its end date, see how to reactivate campaigns.
Check 3: Make sure hotels are activated in the ad group
Adding a hotel to your account is separate from activating it in an ad group. If no hotels are activated, the campaign cannot participate in auctions.
Go to Campaigns.
Hover over the campaign and click the ✏️ icon next to the ad group.
Under Hotels, confirm that at least one hotel is activated.
If no hotels are active:
Click Add Hotels > All Hotels.
Select the hotel(s).
Click Activate in Ad Group.
Click Apply.
Check 4: Review your targeting
Overly restrictive targeting can significantly reduce the number of eligible auction opportunities.
Common causes include:
Using Exact targeting with very narrow criteria (for example, one traveler country combined with one length of stay).
Applying multiple Exclude rules that remove a large portion of your eligible audience.
Combining more than two targeting layers, which can significantly restrict reach.
If your targeting is very narrow, consider using a Boost or Multiplier instead of Exact targeting to maintain broader reach while still prioritizing your preferred audience.
Check 5: Check your bid strategy
If your bid is not competitive, your campaign may not win enough auction opportunities to generate impressions.
Review your bid in Competitive Insights and compare it with the market average.
General recommendations:
Minimum base bid: $0.50 USD
Minimum base bid when using Exact targeting: $0.75 USD
If Dynamic Bidding is enabled, also review your ROAS Goal. A very high ROAS goal causes the system to bid more conservatively, which can reduce the number of auctions entered and limit campaign spend.
