How to Add a Quick Search Widget to Your Facebook Business Page
Updated over a week ago

Overview

Increase traffic to your BoomTown website utilizing your Facebook business page by adding your Quick Search Widget to a tab within your page!

Please note that a new Facebook policy will only allow you to use the Static HTML App on your Facebook Business Page if the Page you're attempting to add the information to has at least 2,000 fans. Otherwise, you'll receive the error message below when attempting to add Static HTML, or any other Third-Party App to your Facebook Business Page.

Not Currently Using Static HTML App

If you are not currently utilizing the Static HTML app on Facebook, please visit the Facebook app center to download the app.

Once you have, click on the Add Static HTML to a Page button, and you will need to select the page where you would like to include the app, and click Add Page Tab.

Once added to your business page, the app will appear in your business page's tab bar as Welcome. Click on the Welcome tab and then click on the Edit Tab option.

You will now come to a page where you have the opportunity to include Static HTML code within the app. Scroll down to the Quick Search Widget Code area to generate the code and continue the steps from there!

Currently Using Static HTML App

To add an additional tab to your Facebook business page, visit a previously created Static HTML tab, and click on the Edit Tab option.

Once you find yourself in the editor of the app, click on Actions, and Add or remove tabs.

Be sure to update the Tab name and Image text fields when adding your new tab. Then select Add tab now.

Next, click on Go to tab to begin the editing process.

Once you visit the tab, you’ll be prompted to Set up tab.

Select this, and you'll be able to enter the code you have for your Quick Search widget, according to the guidelines below.

Quick Search Widget Code

<p align="center"><iframe src="//www.YOURBOOMTOWNWEBSITE.COM/quicksearch/?width=200&utm_source=QUICKSEARCH&utm_campaign=FACEBOOKBIZPAGE&utm_medium=referral" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="display: block; border: none; height: 450px; width:200"></iframe></p>

Instructions for Customizing Code

1) Switch out the website domain, highlighted in orange, in the code above to reflect your BoomTown site domain.

Agents can enter their Agent sub-domain here to ensure that visitors coming from their widget and registering as leads get assigned to them. Just swap out the "www" for your sub-domain name.

2) Replace the campaign, highlighted in blue, in the code above to reflect the website where you are placing the widget. This allows each separate usage of the widget to be tracked independently and provides insight into exactly where site traffic is coming from.

Questions about preparing this code? Our Support Team is happy to help, so feel free to reach out!

Once you have updated the code with your BoomTown website's URL and preferred campaign, copy the entirety of the code and paste it into the index.html box.

If you're using Static HTML for the first time, you will want to visit the Actions tab within the app to name your tab.

Once you save the tab name and click Save & Publish, your tab will be live on your Facebook business page!

Since you have the Static HTML app available on your Facebook business page, you can include additional tabs sending visitors elsewhere on your site, or you may want to include the Home Valuation Widget, if your team is utilizing the Seller Lead Suite.
