Overview

The Quick Search Widget is a tool that can be used on your other websites-- such as a personal blog-- to drive traffic back to your BoomTown site!

The widget will automatically match your BoomTown website color theme, and allows visitors to your other sites to search for listings quickly through your BoomTown site.

How to Get the Widget

To leverage this widget on your other websites, you'll need to first build out the widget code. Customize the below code using the instructions provided.

Widget Code

<!-- BoomTown! generated code follows -->
<iframe src="//www.YOURBOOMTOWNWEBSITE.COM/quicksearch/?width=200&utm_source=QUICKSEARCH&utm_campaign=MYBLOG&utm_medium=referral" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="border: none; height: 450px; width:200"></iframe>
<!-- BoomTown! end generated code -->

Instructions for Customizing Code

1) Switch out the website domain, highlighted in orange, in the code above to reflect your BoomTown site domain.

Agents can enter their Agent sub-domain here to ensure that visitors coming from their widget and registering as leads get assigned to them. Just swap out the "www" for your sub-domain name.

2) Replace the campaign, highlighted in blue, in the code above to reflect the website where you are placing the widget. This allows each separate usage of the widget to be tracked independently and provides insight into exactly where site traffic is coming from.

3) Last step is to copy the updated code and paste it within the source code of the page on your other website!

Search Criteria Options

When using the Quick Search Widget, leads can select as much or as little information as they want. Leaving fields as the default entries will search all active listings in the MLS.

Keyword Search Box

Looks for matching text in the public remarks, street address, postal code, and MLS number fields. Leads can search listings by MLS number by simply entering the listing ID into the keyword box at the top and clicking the button at the bottom to search.

Property Type

Lets leads narrow their search to a single property type, like Single-Family, Condo or Commercial. Leaving this box alone searches all property types.

Location

Provides an array of predefined locations, either customized by a Broker/Admin or set by your MLS. Choose a single location, or leave this box alone to search all locations in your MLS.

Min. & Max. Price

Allows leads to specify a price range for their search.

Beds, Baths, SqFt, & Acres

Fields that define minimum acceptable values for key property details. Leave fields blank to broaden the search.

Feature / Amenities

Lets leads select a single property feature to narrow their search, such as “Waterfront” or “Has Garage”. The selections available here will vary by MLS.

Days on Website

Can constrain search results to display only recently-listed properties.

Price Reduced

Lets leads filter listings by days since the listing price was lowered.

Foreclosure / Bank-Owned & Short Sale Check Boxes

Allows leads to limit their search results to only certain kinds of distressed properties. Leaving these boxes unchecked will display these types of properties along with all other traditional-sale listings.

The count on the Matches button automatically adjusts to reflect the number of results that match the current criteria, before the lead even executes a search. This allows leads to broaden or narrow their search as necessary before moving on to a results list.
