Set Up Zaps in Zapier using BoomTown Triggers

Through BoomTown's integration with Zapier, you can utilize Triggers for BoomTown within your Zaps to take Action steps in any of Zapier's available apps!

Access Your Zapier Account

To get started, as long as you have an account with Zapier, you can log in to it through the Zapier website directly, or by navigating to your image & name in the upper right corner of your BoomTown account, and selecting the Integrations option from the drop-down menu.

On the Integrations page, scroll down to the Zapier option, and select the Log In button. You'll be directed to a sign in page on Zapier, where you can enter the login credentials to access your account.

Once logged in, navigate to the left-hand menu, and select the Create Zap! button.

On the next page, you'll be directed to set up your Trigger step. A trigger is the event that occurs within a specific app to start the Zap.

To select your app, search for "BoomTown" under the App Event section, and select the match that displays in the results.

Once you have selected your app, you will need to select an Event. Currently, the following Events will display as options:

To-Do Created
Category Changed
Text Received
New Lead
Tag Added
Tag Removed
Call Logged
Lead Asked Question
Email Received

To-Do Created Trigger

To select having a To-Do created for a lead in BoomTown as a Trigger for your Zap, click on the Event drop-down and select To-Do Created within the list. Click Continue.

Next, you'll need to connect your BoomTown account to the Zap by selecting Choose an Account. If you have not already connected a BoomTown account to Zapier, you will need to click on +Connect a New Account and follow the prompts to sign in.

Make sure you're logged into your BoomTown account within the browser you're using before selecting to connect the account!

A pop-up will display, and Zapier will recognize the account you're signed into BoomTown with, then ask for a confirmation of the connection -- by selecting Continue.

Once connected, you'll be taken back to your Zap. Click on Continue, then click on Test Trigger to ensure the accounts are connected.

From there, the Zap will automatically pull in a sample of a To-Do that's been created for a lead to use for the rest of the Zap.

If you would like to use a different sample, simply click on the To-Do Created dropdown and choose another sample from the list, if there were others found. You can also prompt the Zap to pull in more samples by clicking on Load More.

From here, click Continue to proceed to the next steps.

Filtering By To-Do Type

If you'd like to be more granular with your Zap, so that a specific To-Do type (or types) acts as the Trigger, you'll need to set up an intermediary step using Zapier's Filter tool.

To do this, on the next step where you're prompted to choose an Action, select the Filter option from the Built-in Tools list at the right.

This will add an additional step to your Zap. With a filter applied, the Zap can only continue to run if specific conditions are met, which you'll need to set within the Filter action.

Next, in the first drop-down menu choose the Todo Type selection.

In the second drop-down, choose (Text) Contains.

Finally, in the last field, type in the type of To-Do from BoomTown that you'd like to have act as the Trigger. The available options from BoomTown are:

Arrival Date
Call
Closing
Custom Task
Email
Fax
Follow-up
Mail
Meeting
Open House
Showing
Text
Thank You

You can include additional To-Do types as well, if you select the OR option beneath the filter you've created (to then enter the same criteria, with a different To-Do type). Otherwise, select the Continue button.

Once you've tested, you can follow the hyperlinked text to proceed with adding the Action step!

This Trigger from BoomTown will not function for leads' Completed To-Dos at this time.

Category Change Trigger

To select a lead's category change in BoomTown as a Trigger for your Zap, select the option for Category Changed within the Event dropdown, then choose the button to Continue.

Regardless of the Trigger you selected above, next you'll need to connect your BoomTown account to the Zap, by selecting Connect an Account.

From there, you'll be prompted to pick a sample of a recent lead category change to use for the rest of the Zap. Simply select the preferred sample that's been generated, and choose the button to Continue!

Select App for Action

Next, regardless of the Trigger you selected above, you'll be prompted to select an app from Zapier that you'd like to use for the Action step of the Zap.

For example, if you'd like a row to be added in a Google Sheet each time a To-Do is created for a lead, search for and select Google Sheets from the list!

Depending upon the app you choose, you'll need to proceed with the steps outlined within Zapier to complete the set up process.

Once you've completed the set-up and testing of the BoomTown Trigger with the chosen app within Zapier, be sure to name your Zap and turn it on to have the BoomTown Trigger prompt the chosen action moving forward!
