Updated over a week ago

Below is a list of pre-formulated templates within Zapier for common Zaps with apps that translate well with BoomTown Actions! The details for each setup are included in the links below:

Before getting started, make sure you're logged into your Zapier account through the Zapier website directly, or by navigating to your image & name in the upper right corner of your BoomTown account, and selecting the Integrations option from the drop-down menu.

On the Integrations page, scroll down to the Zapier option, and select the Log In button. You'll be directed to a sign in page on Zapier, where you can enter the login credentials to access your account and continue setting up your Zap!

Slack Triggers

If you use Slack, and you'd like to connect it to your BoomTown account -- so that each time a To-Do is created for a lead in BoomTown, you can send either a direct or channel message in Slack -- this can be done through one of our pre-formulated Zap templates in Zapier!

Choose Slack Trigger Template

Once logged in, navigate to the app search field in the top menu bar, clicking to activate the search option.

Then type in "BoomTown" and select the match that displays in the results.

On the BoomTown app page where you're redirected, scroll down to the Connect BoomTown! to 1,000+ Apps section, and search for "Slack," then select the Connect button next to the trigger that you'd like to focus on:

Send Slack channel messages when To-Dos are created for contacts in BoomTown

Send Slack direct messages when new To-Dos are created for a contact in BoomTown

Send Slack Channel Messages

On the page you're taken to, you can select the trigger for BoomTown. In this case, it will be To-Do Created. Then select, Continue.

You'll then need to connect your BoomTown account to the Zap, by choosing the Connect an Account button on the following page.

Make sure you're logged into your BoomTown account within the browser you're using before selecting to connect the account!

A pop-up will display, and Zapier will recognize the account you're signed into BoomTown with, then ask for a confirmation of the connection -- by selecting Continue.

Once connected, you'll see your information listed on the page in Zapier. Choose the button to Test the connection, then select Save + Continue.

Next, you'll need to populate a sample BoomTown lead with a To-Do created, in order to set up the Zap. If given the option, select the Pull In Samples button to get started with this, and Zapier will process and populate samples accordingly.

Otherwise, as long as you have at least one lead with a To-Do created in your BoomTown account, results should then display automatically.

You can use the down arrow button next to each example to expand it for more details -- then select the radio button next to the preferred one, and choose the Continue button to proceed.

Set the Slack Action

Next, you'll need to select the action that you'd like the BoomTown To-Do creation trigger to prompt within Slack. The template should provide one choice, for Send Channel Message. Ensure this is selected, and choose to Continue.

Just like with the trigger, you'll need to connect your account for the Slack action, by selecting Connect an Account.

A pop-up will display where you can enter your login credentials to log into your Slack account-- if you're not already. You'll then need to authorize Zapier to access your Slack account, by selecting the Authorize button.

Once you've done so, your account will display as connected in Zapier. You can select the Test button to check the connection between Zapier and your Slack account. Once you've done this, select Save + Continue.

Next, you'll want to select a channel in Slack to notify about the To-Dos created in BoomTown.

In the Channel drop-down, select the channel from Slack that you'd like to focus on, and in the Message Text field enter the message you'd like to have sent from you in the channel in Slack upon the creation of a To-Do in BoomTown.

You can select certain fields to pull into the message automatically as well, such as the lead's name, email address, and/or phone number, the To-Do due date, message body and/or type, etc. Once you've selected this, it will display as a green pill within the body of the Message field.

Once you've selected the fields for your Zap, choose to Continue. On the next page, you'll see a summary of the choices, and you'll be able to send a test to Slack with the information you selected. To do so, select the Send Test to Slack button.

If the test is successful, Zapier will process for a few seconds, and then alert you about the success toward the top of the page.

You can then select the Finish button to complete the set up.

On the following page, you'll be prompted to turn on the Zap for automatic use moving forward.

Make sure the toggle is green for the selection, and then in the future when you have a To-Do created for a lead in BoomTown, it should trigger the message in your selected channel in Slack, though Zapier!
