AI Interpreter User Guide - Web and Mobile

AI Interpreter user guide for requestors: place a call on web or mobile, use Always-Listening mode, end the call, and roll over to a human.

Written by Quinn Bott

The AI Interpreter feature lets requestors connect to an AI interpreter for on-demand calls on web and mobile.

Enable or disable feature access

Root requestor admins can opt their organization in or out of AI features. Navigate to Configuration>Company>Feature Access and select the AI area to change it.

Place an AI Interpreter call

  1. The steps below describe the web experience; the mobile app works the same way.

  2. Sign in to your requestor account in the InterpretManager mobile app or the Boostlingo web platform.

  3. In the caller, select AI Interpreter (a third communication option alongside audio and video).

  4. Choose your language from the Language To list (filtered to AI-supported languages).

  5. Choose a Service Type.

  6. Select Call.

During the call

There are two modes:

Click-to-Speak mode

After a brief Connecting screen, you’ll hear a recording announcement and greeting. Once it ends, the caller shows an Idle state (white circle).

  1. Select the screen to start speaking — the caller switches to the Listening state (green circle).

  2. Speak clearly in the selected language then select settings.

  3. Select Click to send to process your input.

  4. The caller shows a Processing screen, then the Speaking state (yellow circle) as the AI Interpreter provides the interpretation.

Always-Listening mode

In Always-Listening mode, the caller detects pauses in your speech and interprets automatically (about five seconds). To turn it on, select the gear icon during the call and choose it. The caller lights green when detecting speech, yellow when interpreting, and white when idle.

End the call

Select End Call at any point to disconnect.

Human rollover

At any point you can switch to a live interpreter:

  1. Select the Rollover to Live Interpreter banner.

  2. Enter feedback and select Rollover to confirm.

The AI session ends and the caller routes to live interpreters with the same language and service type.

Note: Pre-call information entered before the AI call transfers automatically to the rollover call. A rolled-over AI call shows a Rollover status. Filter call logs for these with Type = AI and Call Status = Rollover.

Next steps / Getting more help

· For requestors: if AI Interpreter isn’t available, let your requestor admin or LSC admin know so they can check that AI features are enabled. For faster help, provide the language and service type you tried.
