Rates Overview - Daily, Cancellation and Priority Rates

Written by Quinn Bott

Beyond standard rates, LSC Administrators can set optional daily, cancellation, and priority rates. This article explains each and how it applies.

Note: For an introduction to rate cards, see Rates overview — standard rates and rate overrides.

Daily rate

The Daily Rate is an optional flat amount for an appointment — useful when a per-minute or per-hour rate doesn’t fit, such as a flat daily amount for onsite appointments.

To apply it, select Account/Interpreter Will be charged the daily rate when creating the appointment. The appointment length isn’t considered — it’s a flat fee.

Cancellation rates

Cancellation Rates are optional rates that apply when a scheduled appointment is cancelled (for example, a no-show, a change of address, an emergency, or an appointment that’s no longer needed). They generally don’t apply to on-demand OPI and VRI calls.

You can set a cancellation rate to apply:

  • only when a cancellation occurs within a set interval before the start time (for example, “1 hour” prior), or

  • any time an appointment is cancelled before, during, or after it was set to occur.

A cancellation rate can be a fixed amount or a percentage of the appointment’s base total.

Priority rates

Priority Rates are optional rates for appointments created for one of these reasons:

  • Rush — created with little time to gather resources.

  • Emergency — created because of an emergency.

  • Special — needs to be expedited for special reasons.

A priority rate can be a fixed amount, an amount in addition to the base rate (per minute or per hour), or both. You can set it to apply only within an interval before the start time, or any time an appointment is created.

Note: Review the rate hierarchy before completing a rate card.

Next steps / Getting more help

  • For LSC admins: if a daily, cancellation, or priority rate isn’t applying, confirm it’s configured on the relevant rate card and the appointment meets the conditions, then reach out to Boostlingo Support with the appointment ID.
