When Appointment Rates are Applied

Written by Quinn Bott

Rate changes in Boostlingo are not retroactive. This article explains when appointment rates lock in, so you know which appointments a change will affect.

Important Note: Rate changes apply only to appointments created after the change. They don’t affect appointments that are already scheduled, in progress, or completed.

When rates lock in

  • Account rates lock in when the appointment is created.

  • Interpreter rates lock in when the appointment moves to Scheduled status (when the interpreter is confirmed).

Tip: For major pricing changes, schedule time with your Account Manager before making them.

Appointment rate overrides

If you update appointment fields that could affect which rate card applies, such as language pair, service type, or communication type, you'll see a pop-up asking you to confirm the update.

  • Selecting "Cancel" keeps the appointment fields and rate as they are.

  • Selecting "Update" applies the field changes. This may change which rate card is selected based on language pair, service type, and communication type. It also re-confirms the interpreter(s) if they're still eligible under their permissions, and removes them from the appointment if they're not.

  • Editing Critical Fields for a Broadcasted appointment may also roll back the appointment status to a draft state.

Next steps / Getting more help

  • For LSC admins: if an appointment shows an unexpected rate, check when it was created and confirmed against when the rate changed, then reach out to Boostlingo Support with the appointment ID. If you’re unsure how to reach Support, contact your Account Manager.
