Updated over a week ago

Definition

A Production Order in the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal represents a top-level project or production run that encompasses multiple Work Orders. It serves as a container for organizing and managing the manufacturing process of a specific product or batch. Production Orders provide an overview of the production schedule, resource allocation, and progress tracking to ensure efficient and timely completion of the manufacturing tasks.

Examples

For example, a Production Order could be created for the production of 10,000 "16oz Organic Apple Juice Bottles" to fulfill a customer's order. The Production Order would include details such as the order quantity, associated Work Orders, required resources, and estimated completion date.

Relations

  • Work Order: Production Orders consist of multiple Work Orders, representing the individual tasks or operations to be performed for the production run.

  • Production Order Item: Production Orders can have multiple Production Order Items, each associated with a specific product or batch to be manufactured.

  • Production Resource: Production Orders allocate and assign specific Production Resources, such as machines, equipment, or personnel, to carry out the work.

Example Relations

In our example, the Production Order for producing 10,000 "16oz Organic Apple Juice Bottles" would consist of multiple associated Work Orders, each representing a specific operation in the production process, such as "Bottling," "Labeling," and "Casing." Each Production Order Item within the Production Order would be linked to the specific product or batch being manufactured. The Production Order would allocate and assign appropriate Production Resources to ensure the smooth execution of the work.

Entity Lifecycle States

Production Orders can have lifecycle states such as:

  • DRAFT: The Production Order is being created or edited and is not yet finalized.

  • SCHEDULED: The Production Order has been scheduled for execution but is not yet in progress.

  • IN_PROCESS: The Production Order is currently being executed or worked on.

  • COMPLETED: The Production Order has been successfully completed.

  • CANCELED: The Production Order has been canceled and will not be carried out.

  • DELETED: The Production Order has been permanently removed from the system.
