We’re making people-management even easier. You might have lots of staff on your books - but perhaps not all of them are employees, so we’ve made a few changes to make your life easier.
'Employees' are now 'people', and you now have the choice of adding new starters as Contractors, Volunteers or Employees.
Say hello to more precise reports, a slicker dashboard and people-admin that’s easier than ever.
Please note: To set an individual up on Breathe they will need to be assigned a work pattern and leave allowance. For the working pattern it is recommended to average the amount of time that they will be working across the potential working week and then create and assign the smallest leave allowance which is 0.5 days.
How do I do this?
You are able to bulk assign a 'people' status via the employee list. This is by far the most efficient way of updating profiles if you have a large number to update.
To bulk assign navigate to People > our people select the people you wish to change or assign a status to by placing a tick in the box, scroll to the bottom of the list and you will see the drop down menu, choose 'Assign person type' then the green bulk update button. You will be prompted to choose from 3 options:
Employee
Volunteer
Contractor
Once you have made your selection your next step is the save button and you're all done. Your people have been updated and are now reflecting the chosen status in their main summary screen on their profile.
You will be able to identify the type in the main 'our people list' People > our people
Volunteer
Contractor
Employee
You are also able do this Individually
Search for the individual that you wish to change either using the search function on the top right of your account
Or select them from the list under People > our people
Once you have made your selection you will be able to edit their profile by selecting the edit pencil icon the choose the status that you wish to update to by using the drop down menu titled 'Person type' the last step is a scroll to the bottom of the page and press the update profile button

FAQ's
Do volunteers and contractors still count towards towards our plan numbers?
Yes they will still count towards the plan numbers as they are being entered on to the system and are able to use Breathe to its fullest potential.
My contractors don't have holiday a holiday allowance. How do I manage this?
A leave allowance is needed to set your people up on Breathe. You can give the contractor a 0 hours or days holiday allowance to satisfy the system that one is in place. We would suggest naming this something that will distinguish this from the others such as 'Contractor Allowance'
Can I change the people types within my account?
The options of employee/contractor/volunteer within Breathe aren't customisable.
