The Universities tab in BridgeU gives you a clear overview of where your students show interest or have applied. It brings all university-related activity into one place, helping you quickly understand without opening individual student profiles.
On the overview page, you’ll see a table listing universities along with key metrics such as the number of students who have shortlisted them, submitted applications, or confirmed attendance. Where available, upcoming deadlines are also shown, making it easier to track progress and identify popular universities at a glance.
At the top of the page, you can refine the data using filters like graduation year and destination country. This is especially useful when focusing on a specific cohort or region. The search bar allows you to quickly find a particular university, saving time when working with larger datasets.
How to use the Universities Tool
Once you click on a university, an overlay opens with more detailed insights. Here, you can explore trends, applications, shortlists, scattergrams, university information, courses, documents, and deadlines all in one place.

Trends
Trends
The graph provides a clear visual overview of trends over time, with each bar representing a specific year or cohort. Different colours indicate shortlists, applications, offers, and enrolled students, making it easy to compare year-on-year performance. This view helps you quickly identify patterns such as changes in application volume, success rates, and enrollment trends, enabling more informed student guidance.
The Trends feature helps you analyse how students from your school have performed at a specific university over time. This allows you to make more informed counselling decisions and guide future students in building a balanced and realistic application list.
The data is presented in two different ways so you can interpret it as needed. We have the table view and also the graph view.
You can see from the table (shown above):
the number of students that shortlisted this University
the number of applications
the successful/unsuccessful outcomes received
the number of students actually attending the University.
You can also see data from previous years.
Scattergrams
Scattergrams
The Scattergram graph displays the students’ application data points for the selected University. It is based on grades and test scores and the colour represents the outcomes of the applications.
Green - Accepted
Red - Rejected
Yellow - Waitlisted/Deferred
Grey - No outcomes
You can change the axis to see different grades and compare that with particular tests. Hovering on each data point will also show more info on each application.
Scattergram is a feature similar to Analytics > University offers tab. We highly recommended using Scattergram in Universities as it displays full application data for all students (current or archived students with BridgeU accounts. Please also note that Scattergrams require at least 3 data points to be plotted on the chart: at least one advisor-entered grade/score (We only support IB Predicted, 4.0 GPA, Weighted GPA so you might need to convert different scores first) and students need to have added an application to that university.
