How to use trip states

Trip states are the timeline structure for your checklist. They determine when tasks become active and visible to your team.

Common default states include:

  • Pre-Trip – tasks due before launch

  • Day-Of – tasks for the morning or day of the trip

  • Post-Trip – wrap-up items like reports or reviews

You can add as many custom states as needed. For example:

  • “One Week Out”

  • “Evening Before”

  • “Shuttle Return”

Each state allows you to assign timing (e.g. "2 days before trip") and stack tasks beneath it. Tasks only appear when their state becomes active.

3. How to Create a New Checklist
Build checklists while setting up an experience—define states, add tasks, and automate your workflow.

4. Using Checklists to Track Trip Progress

5. Checklist Best Practices: Experience-Level vs. Trip-Level
Add tasks at the experience level for reuse—trip-level edits won’t carry over. Contact support if changes need to apply retroactively.
