The Guide Payments tab in Brindlechute is designed to make paying guides fast and organized. Instead of handling payouts one trip at a time, you can batch multiple trips together, review everything in one place, and send payments confidently. This also ties directly into automatic payout batches, so you know exactly when payments will begin processing.
Paying guides through Brindlechute? Batching only sends money to guides whose payment method shows Automatic (bank account connected through Stripe). If a guide shows Manual, sending the payment just logs it for your records — no funds are transferred. To switch a guide to automatic, see How to pay guides through Brindlechute.
Key Things to Know
Automatic guides only - Batch payments only send money to guides whose payment method shows Automatic. Guides set to Manual are logged for records only — no funds are transferred.
Page-based batching - Click Submit payments to open Select guide payment. Only the trips on your current page are included. If you have multiple pages of unpaid trips, repeat the process page by page.
Flexible selection - Rows on the page are selected by default — use Clear selections to start from scratch, or untick the ones you want to leave out.
The Summary tracks your progress - At the top you'll see Total payments, Selected payments, and Remaining payments, each with a dollar total, so you always know what's still outstanding.
Adjust before you send - You can edit Base payout, Gratuity, and Bonus directly on each row, and add a note. The Adjustments column sits at the far right — scroll the table sideways to reach it. See Changing a Guide Payment Amount.
Confirmation step - Before anything is finalized, you'll review a Confirm to send payment screen with payout totals, guides, and trips.
Automatic tracking - Once confirmed, payments are logged and added to your upcoming payout batch automatically.
Filters save time - Use filters like Unpaid Trips or date ranges to quickly find what needs attention.
Batch processing fee - Each payout batch includes a single $8 Stripe processing fee, regardless of how many guide payments are included.
Seeing a $0 payment warning? If your selection includes a payment of $0.00, a banner appears at the top of the Submit payments screen. This happens when no base pay has been set for that guide on that experience, so there's nothing for the system to auto-fill. Enter the correct amount before sending, or set the rate so it fills automatically next time — see How to Set Up Guide Payout Logic.
Guide payments are processed overnight
To ensure payment goes out on a scheduled batch day, all updates and approvals must be completed by 11:59 pm MT on that day.
Anything completed after this cutoff will be processed in the next scheduled pay period based on your admin payment settings.
Example: If your schedule is set to weekly payments on Mondays, batching by 11:59 pm MT on Monday will send payment that night. For a bi-weekly schedule on the 1st and 15th, batching by 11:59 pm MT on either date will send payment that night.
Step-by-Step: Paying Multiple Guides
Confirm each guide's payment method shows Automatic (not Manual) — manual guides won't receive funds through the batch.
Go to the Guide Payments tab.
Use filters (like Unpaid Trips) to see only what needs to be paid.
Click Submit payments in the top right.
Under Select guide payment, tick the rows you want to include. Everything on the page is selected by default, so use Clear selections if you'd rather build the batch from scratch.
Adjust Base payout, Gratuity, or Bonus on any row that needs it, and add notes if helpful.
Check the Summary at the top — it shows your selected total and what's left unselected.
Click Send in the top right. The button displays the dollar total for your current selection.
On the Confirm to send payment screen, review the guides, trips, and totals, then click Confirm and send.
Return to the Guide Payments tab, move to the next page, and repeat until all trips are processed.
Example Scenario
If you've got 5 unpaid trips on your page totaling $1,240.00, the button in the top right reads Send $1,240.00 — clicking it opens the confirmation screen, and confirming schedules those payments for your next payout run.
If there are 12 unpaid trips spread across two pages, you can process the first page today (for example, 6 trips), then return later to process the second page. As long as all payments are scheduled before your payout cutoff, they will be grouped into a single payout batch and processed together on your scheduled payout date—with one Stripe $8 processing fee for the entire batch.
Including guides assigned to canceled trips
From the guide payments tab:
At the top, check Show Cancellation Days, located to the right next to the filter pills.
This reveals canceled days in the list.

Paying in batches reduces time spent on payouts and ensures guides see consistent, trackable payments. The page-by-page approach gives you control, so you can double-check details as you go without missing a trip.
