When you discount an experience linked to a partner, you usually want the client's invoice and the partner's payout to both come down. Entering the discount on the line item is what does that. Order matters here — the commission options you need only appear once the discount exists.
How to apply the discount
Open or create the booking and click Edit in the top right if editing an existing booking.
In the Itinerary Builder, click the price of the partner-linked line item.
Under Set discount, toggle ON, choose $ USD or % Percent, and enter the amount.
Click Save. The line item shows a discount tag with the original price struck through and the new subtotal below it.
Click Manage commissions in the top right of the Itinerary Builder.
Set that partner's line to % mode and enter your commission rate.
Confirm the tag next to the rate reads After disc. This is the default, so it usually needs no change — but if the line was previously set to Before disc, switch it back.
Click Save in the top right to confirm.
💡 Tip: The After disc / Before disc tag appears only when two things are true: the commission line is in % mode, and the line item already has a discount on it. If you do not see it, check both — most often the discount has not been entered yet.
What each number becomes
For a $10,000 experience with a 15% discount and a 15% commission rate:
Client invoice — $8,500.00
Your commission — $1,275.00
Partner payout — $7,225.00
⚠️ Note: Setting a commissionable base in CRV mode does not reduce the sale price or the payout. CRV tells Brindlechute what to calculate commission on; it does not change what the client owes or what the partner is paid. For a discount that should reduce the payout, enter it on the line item.
