Before reading this article, make sure you read this one first.
Now that your Account Manager has activated the feature and you've received your readers, you'll have to set them up for the feature to work.
Plug your reader
First, you'll have to plug in your reader and connect it to the internet. To do so, you can follow Kisi's help sheets.
Our tip
Wiring your reader may not work from the get-go, as most Ethernet wall sockets do not supply power. You need a Power over Ethernet socket. Most of the time, these sockets have 2 LEDs, one for power, the other for the internet.
If your router or wall socket doesn't have this kind of port, then you will need a power injector. Here is an example of one. To note: We didn't test this product ourselves and cannot assure good functioning. Reach out to Kisi if you have any doubts.
Set up on Kisi
Once your reader is properly plugged in, you'll have to set up the reader on the Kisi backoffice to connect it to the desired door.
To do so, follow Kisi's help sheet.
Once you are done, in the Kisi backoffice:
Select the corresponding place
Click on Doors in the left side menu
Select the wanted door
Go to Permissions
Activate Reader Proximity Restriction
Save
You can also select how close your members should be to the reader to be able to unlock the door. To do so:
Select the corresponding place
Go to Hardware
Scroll down to Sensitivity
Change it to the wanted value
Save
Our tip
There is no need for your members to tap their phone on the reader. This will actually activate NFC (Apple Wallet, Google Wallet...), which will override the bsport interface.
We recommend that your members simply step in front of the door and unlock it from there.
