Take attendance for classes

This article explains how to record attendance in the new Back Office.

Terminology update: "Roll call" is now called Attendance in the new Back Office. This article uses the term Attendance throughout.

What's changed in the new Back Office

You can now confirm attendance for a whole day in one go. Open the details panel and select Confirm all to mark every entry in that day's class list in a single action.

A yellow banner shows which classes still need attendance confirmed. Once confirmed, the record displays the name of the person who confirmed it along with a timestamp.

Note: attendance can only be confirmed during the validation window set for your studio — outside this window, the confirm action isn't available.

Reading the class roster

The Class roster shows everyone booked onto the class, with a present/absent toggle on each row. It appears on the class management page and, at a glance, in the class detail drawer on the calendar.

Gender distribution

If your studio uses this feature, a breakdown appears next to the spots filled count on the roster heading — for example, "0 women · 1 man · 1 other".

Notes on a booking

A notes chip on the row shows how many notes the client has. Hover over it to preview the two most recent notes, each with its date. If there are more, the preview tells you how many. Select the row to open the detail drawer and read them all.

Filtering the roster

Use the Booked, Canceled and No-show tabs to switch between booking states, then narrow the list further:

  • Present or Absent — filter by attendance status.

  • Studio bookings — show only clients who booked with you directly.

  • Aggregator bookings — show only clients who came through an aggregator. Open the filter to tick the ones you want: myClubs, Urban Sports Club, ClassPass, Wellhub, Wellpass, Workit.

What hasn't changed

Marking individual clients as present, late, or absent works the same way as before.
