App names have to be unique on the App Store. If another developer has already registered the name we planned for your app, Apple will reject it and we cannot submit until we have a different one.
This is common, and it is usually quick to resolve.
What we need from you
Reply to our email with two or three alternative names, in the order you prefer them. We will check each one and reserve the first that is available.
What makes a good alternative
Keep your studio name in it if you can — your members search for you by name.
Add a short word that fits your studio: the city, the discipline, or the word Studio, Club or App. For example Lagree Lyon, Pilates Marais, Rise Studio Birr.
Up to 30 characters. Apple cuts off anything longer on the App Store.
Avoid another brand's name, and avoid words like best or free — Apple rejects those.
Things worth knowing
The name on the store is not the name under the icon. The icon on your members' phones shows a shorter name, which we set separately. A longer store name does not clutter their home screen.
Your members will still find you. Your studio name, description and keywords are all searchable, so an added word does not hide you.
Android is usually not the problem. Google Play is more permissive about duplicate names, so in most cases only the Apple name needs changing. We keep both stores consistent where we can.
It can be changed later. The name is not locked forever — it can be updated in a future release if you change your mind.
