Branded App: steps and timeline from signature to go-live

The five steps to launch your branded app, who does what, and how long each step takes.

Your branded app is your own app, published in the App Store and Google Play under your studio's name. You bring the brand, we build and publish the app. You don't need to design or code anything.

This article explains each step from signature to go-live, who does what, and how long to expect.

⏱ At a glance

Allow up to 12 weeks from signature to go-live. Most of that time is waiting on third parties (Dun & Bradstreet, Apple and Google), not work on your side. In total, expect around 4 to 5 hours of your time, spread over the process. Many studios move faster.

Steps 1, 2 and 3 can all run at the same time. Steps 4 and 5 need your D-U-N-S number, so request it on day one.

👥 Who does what

  • You: share your brand information, prepare your Back Office, and open your Apple and Google developer accounts. Apple and Google require the legal owner of the business to do this; an employee or agency cannot do it for you.

  • bsport: design your app, build it, submit it to both stores under your accounts, and handle every update once it is live.

1️⃣ Get your D-U-N-S number

A 9-digit business ID from Dun & Bradstreet. Apple and Google both use it to verify your company. If you don't already have one, a new number can take up to 30 days, and this is outside bsport's control.

The company name and address on your D-U-N-S record must match your registration documents exactly. Small differences are the most common reason Apple or Google reject an account.

2️⃣ Submit your Brand Identity form

This is what we design your app from:

  • App name (short names work best on a home screen)

  • A high-resolution, perfectly square logo with no transparent edges

  • Your primary and secondary colours (hex codes) and your app language

  • A live website and a professional email on the same domain (for example studio.com and hello@studio.com, not Gmail)

3️⃣ Get your Back Office app-ready

Your app shows content straight from your Back Office, and Apple and Google test it manually before approving it. You need:

  • Your logo and colours in Settings › General

  • At least one activity with sessions scheduled in the next two months, with a real image (not a bsport default icon)

4️⃣ Open your Apple Developer account

Enrol as a Company / Organisation (not Individual) with your existing Apple ID and two-factor authentication. Apple approval usually takes 4 to 8 weeks and Apple may call you, so answer promptly. Once enrolled, invite bsport as Admin.

5️⃣ Open your Google Developer account

Create the account as an Organisation, add bsport as admin, then complete Google's verifications in order (business documents, owner's ID, website, phone number). Identity checks usually take 3 to 5 business days.

🤝 Don't do steps 4 and 5 alone

Our team can complete the Apple and Google accounts with you on a call. What can take weeks alone is usually done in two calls. Check what to have ready here:

🚀 What happens after the five steps

  1. We design: we create your app visuals from your Brand Identity form and send them to you for approval.

  2. We build and submit: we build the iOS and Android versions and submit them to the App Store and Google Play under your accounts.

  3. You launch: once approved, your app is live under your own name.

Your iOS and Android apps may go live on different days, because Apple and Google review them separately.

We don't contact your members about the app before it is live. You decide when to announce it.

💬 How we work together

  • We send each step in its own email. Reply "done" on the same thread, or tell us where you're stuck. Your reply is what unlocks the next step.

  • Always reply on your Branded App thread rather than opening a new chat, so your history stays in one place and the same team follows your setup.

  • If Apple or Google emails you directly, forward it to us on that thread.
