This article explains what a Curator does, and what happens if they cancel their booking.
1. What is a Curator?
When you start a group booking, you automatically become the Curator. That means you’re responsible for:
Choosing the property and dates
Managing invites and group members
Ensuring the group reaches full capacity before the 7-day deadline
Keeping your group informed about payments, check-in, and house rules
The Curator role is essential — without one, the group cannot confirm.
2. What happens if the Curator cancels?
If the Curator cancels before the booking is confirmed:
The group booking is automatically cancelled
All pending payment holds are released
No one is charged
If the Curator cancels after the booking is confirmed:
The booking is cancelled for the entire group
Refunds follow the property’s cancellation policy
Guests may need to re-book if they still want to travel
3. Can someone else take over as Curator?
Not yet. In future versions, another group member will be able to step up as Curator within 24 hours if the original Curator cancels. For now, a cancelled Curator means the whole booking is cancelled.
